This hotel is the only one on the Brazilian side of Iguacu Falls which is located inside the national park. It’s expensive, but well worth it for a location that can’t be matched. The most amazing thing is the view of the falls, which needs to be seen to be believed. You can get an early start in the morning and enjoy the scenic beauty all around ahead of the tourist crowds.

The location also means that you are restricted to the hotel at night – which shouldn’t be a problem if you are not staying more than a couple of nights, since the hotel has a decent bar and a good Brazilian Churasco buffet dinner. The staff at the restaurant is very friendly and happy to feed you.

Agree with other reviewers that the rooms were small. Also the pool area wasn’t very well lit at night. Would recommend this to any one traveling to Iguacu, if you have the budget.

Hotel das Cataratas is the only hotel inside the Foz de Iguacu park on the Brazilian side. It's just across the street from the nearest set of falls. Hotel staff are courteous and the pool is limpid and clean, with a terrific drinks service. The location plays host to busloads of day trippers almost every day, but they usually are gone by 4 or 5 pm, and then it's beautiful and quiet. The restaurant in the hotel serves really good food, which is fortunate, since it's the only one for miles. The closest restaurants in town are a good 20+ miles away.

We loved it there, and if we're ever back in the south of Brazil, we'll go back.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights on our 2 week honeymoon. It was AMAZING and it made the honeymoon for us.
We checked in to be told that we had been upgraded to a suite, which was just fantastic. Patrick served us on Check In and was more than helpful.
We ate both nights in the Ipe Buffet which was excellent, both food and service.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the hotel.
I am just sorry our stay here wasn't any longer!

this is a lovely hotel set on the doorstep to the falls. it gives you the opportunity to see the falls before and after the coach loads of people arrive and leave and aside from that it's just a really gorgeous hotel, worth paying the extra money for.
couple of complaints, firstly, on leaving the cab booked for us turned up 30 mins late, i wonder whether they only booked it after we actually chased them up?! second, on visiting the Argentinian side you'll pay a lot more by going through the hotel, than otherwise just booking a cab yourself. (you don't get anything for the premium).

Regarding your complaint abou the delay of the cab, taxis do have to come from the airport to the hotel, which might take up to 20min up from the time of order. I will double check with the front desk if they are encountering any dificulties with the taxi service.

incredible access to the national park after the tourists have gone. Hotel nwely refurbised, grweat orient express service. Our room felt small and cramped however, be careful with room chosen

Room Tip: be careful and ask for room facing national park, many rooms too small
