Stayed at Recanto Park for 2 nights. Overall a nice hotel with spacious rooms and a huge pool area. I would recommend it. The only issue I had, not a big deal since I was on vacation, is the fact that they wanted to charge me for WiFi even though it didn't work while I was there. It took a little bit of an argument with the front desk person before he decided to deduct it from the bill.

We liked our spacious room with jacuzzi in the bath room and especially the little terrace overlooking the pool area. unfortunately the pool area is very noisy and the terrace door does not shut out that noise. there is a guy constantly talking in a microphone and loud pseakers, water aerobic and stuff for kids -all good but there si nowhere for people who want pool, sun, quiet and a good book. the breakfast selection is overwhelming and good. you have to pay for wifi which is ridiculous.

Hello Amand,! Firstly thank you for your review and comments! It is graticante for us to know that you have been satisfied with our hotel. As for your statement about the pool area, we regret this happened. Depending on the leisure activities that the hotel offers, especially in the pool area, sometimes the sound just getting high. But we are already taking care to not frequently do it, and enough insulation. Thank you!

Let me start by saying that there isn't a lot in Foz Do Iguacu by way of hotels or food or really anything else other than the parks and the dam. The whole town feels like someone pumped a lot of money into it in the 1970's and then vanished. Recanto Park has a similar feel. It is an unwieldily building that has not yet decided what it is-it is a hotel, a convention center, an amusement park with water park area, playground , rec center and bowling alley or a fusion of a 1970's Howard Johnson with Ikea discotheque? It feels like all of the above. The pictures on Trip advisor are misleading.

That said, it is very, very clean and spacious, if not spartan to the point of making you feel uncomfortable. There is something weirdly space-age, as envisioned in the 1970's about this place. That said, the much higher priced Sheraton in the Iguazu Park on the Argentina side, has the same sort of 1970's feel. The staff are friendly, except for the ones at the bar who don't understand the meaning of service. The brunch is plentiful, although not very good. Same to be said for the a la carte food, which is a shame since town is a 10 minute ride away and there aren't too many options there. I can imagine that this would be a great place for kids, with all the amenities for them. Also, for $160 a night, it was the best bang for your buck compared to many of the other options.

The upshot: there aren't many options, so this one is probably one of the best. The balconies are a joke, but it might be worth getting one to air out the rooms. Also it is relatively close to town. Not sure if you can get closer for the same level of hotel. The cab ride to town was about $10 USD. The food in town is pretty decent. The food in the hotels on both sides of Iguacu is borderline criminal. If you can, splurge and stay in the park and maybe squirrel in some food from town or anywhere really. At the very least, it is cool to be in the actual park itself and nothing beats the view.

Here's my recommendation to you. Spend 1.5 days in Iguacu Falls. Spend 1 day on the Argentina side (you only need about 4-6 hours tops) and .5 days on the Brazil side (if that much). Then it won't matter where you stay in Iguacu or Iguazu. Anymore time is a waste and there are so many more amazing places to see in Brazil.

Hello "Renuka", thank you have dedicated your time to leave us your impressions of the hotel and city. It's a shame, we can see from your comments that has not enjoyed much our city and attractions.
Generally our tourists stay here for about 3 to 4 days, and even then some report us that was not enough to enjoy all the attractions, and most end up returning. Beyond the conventional visit at the Iguaçu National Park, Natural Heritage, through ecological trail leading to the observation of the lookouts over 275 waterfalls, where tourists can walk through a walkway that leads very close to the main fall , and have the feeling of being washing the soul, there are still, even in the park walking trail options a bit more closed amid bushland, with 9km walk, on feet or by bike or jeepe electric, ride duck , boat ride above the falls, which is quieter or below the falls in an exciting and unforgettable adventure. There are also oções tree climbing, rafting and abseiling. If the visitor is really willing to experiment, you need more than a day in our park.
The city also offers a guided tour to the Parque das Aves, contact with other cultures, anyway here are more than 72 ethnic groups living in perfect harmony. One can know the Arab Mosque and the Buddhist Temple. The Itaipu Dam Tourist Complex, besides the sightseeing tour also opens its doors for a guided tour inside the plant, where visitors experience the amazing feeling of contemplation of the human capacity to build such a fortress, which makes us feel very small inside . The plant also offers night tour of observation of the dam, visit the Bela Vista Biological Refuge, where the animals were housed after the flood of dam construction, many animals are still being treated and rehabilitated there, and possess a native plant nursery. You can also make a visit to the Polo Astronomical and make an interplanetary journey in less than an hour.
It's a shame that his visit was quick, hope to see you again here, so you can enjoy your trip more. Our city hotel and thank you! Best wishes!

We stayed here for 2 nights. We got an upgrade to a bigger room as we were on honeymoon. The pool was lovely & breakfast was good. We went to the falls on a tour from the hotel to the Argentinian side & it was good.

We were there in late December - so the place was full and pricey. Its your typical family oriented resort - nothing extraordinary.

Positives:
- Service was good.
- Breakfast was good - huge buffet
- Clean & modern
- Huge pool, very kids friendly
- Travel agency at the hotel can help with tours

Negatives:
- Room was not amazing - we got a ground flood room with a view of the car-park
- Quite far from the town centre - 20 Real taxi ride into town
- Felt too much like a mass-produced tourist hotel
- Had no luck talking with their staff over the phone, because of their lack of English

I would say ... keep looking ... but if you can't find anything better, this hotel is a decent option.
