“Serves the purpose”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

I give this hotel four stars because it is pretty average, but for the price you pay, its services are just fine. And it serves the purpose of why most of its visitors probably check into it. Most people who check-in there are those who are visiting the amazing (AMAZING!) Iguacu Falls, a short bus ride from there. So most-likely, you will not spend a whole lots of idle time in this hotel. It provides a decent bed and shower and that is fine enough for me. The front desk staff is mostly Portuguese speaking, but can manage a little bit of English. The breakfast spread is okay and enough to get yout going on your tours. Speaking of tours, it is great that this hotel has a LoumarTour table set up in the front desk area. Their prices and service is quite good. I have no complains. The look and feel of the place if pretty basic but generally clean and comfortable. Location is a bit noisy, but I sleep very well, so I had no big issue around it. Some place outside played some loud music into the night, but it did stop and I was too tired to be kept awake by that. There is a swimming pool, but I did not use it. Easy walk to shops, restaurants. Not sure about any restaurant there as I didn't try any of it. NEGATIVES: 1) I was irritated by the odd toilet tissue dispenser. It is not just a simple toilet roll. Instead it is some weird thing where you have to tug at the tissue and sometimes its all ripping to piece as you tug. 2) I had dinner only 1 night here and it was a very simple salad and soup only. They had a few desserts. It was over-priced at BR30.00 But then again, most things in brazil are over-priced for not very good quality. To close, this is a good hotel to just sleep and get to the Falls and other tourist attractions. The front desk staff is quite helpful with limited English. Very easy access to the tourist attractions and to get them organized right there inside the hotel. Mostly positive experience. Its served my purpose for being there.

I stayed here with a G Adventures tour and it was the best hotel we had the whole tour. We got lucky b/c we got bumped from our primary hotel and came here. Overall it is in good condition, not ultra modern but more so than other places I stayed in Brazil. The room is a good size, the bathroom was very nice and the AC worked well. The breakfast, restaurant and the cafe/bar outside had good food and drink options. The service at the pool was VERY slow so give it time if you want to hang around for a coffee/drink. The location was within close distance to restaurants, shops, food mkt. Also, it had a lot of places to sit and wait if you had a while b/t checking out and your next location. That was much appreciated!

The hotel is located in downtown, so it is easy to go to restaurants and places. There is a representative of a tourism agency at the lobby where you can arrange transportations and visits to the main attractions.
The bedroom was very big, but the hotel is a big old, and the building shows it a little bit.
The breakfast wasn't so good. There was nothing very tasty and the restaurant was too crowd.

I would stay here again - spacious & clean rooms, & the pool is just right. Streets near the hotel: be careful when walking late at night, my friend's purse almost got snatched by a teenager on a bike.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here on a weekend trip to Brazil to visit the Iguazu falls. For the price paid, the hotel was of a great standard. The rooms were clean, spacious and modern - fridge and safe was included free of charge which was great as we bought our own drinks and food from the supermarket around the corner and stored them in here. wifi was payable but very cheap for a 24 hour code.

the balcony was small but had a nice pool view and the swimming pool area was very clean, open to the sun and not crowded. there is also a gym on site which we used, yes its basic but served us well enough. only improvements that could be made would be to look at their drink prices which we found at the bar were rather expensive.

overall we had a fantastic weekend break in a great hotel with great staff.

Room Tip: ask for pool view so you are not road facing.

Nice hotel with suitable service, breakfast was good, and dinner was excellent. If there is WiFi inside the rooms of 4 star hotel, it proves the whole impression and make state more comfortable.
we have relaxed there after very intensive days at the waterfalls.

Our room was modern and comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The town is quite spread out so whilst we had a fair walk to get anywhere, it would probably be the same no matter where you stayed. The Lonely Planet description of 'semi-swanky' is pretty accurate.
