“Avoid it - bad food and bad show”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

I constantly go to Foz do Iguazu because it is a popular destination for conferences and business meetings and I am a lecturer. I probably go some 4 to 5 times per year to that destination. Foz do Iguazu is not necessarily a gastronomic destination to the extension that many times the hotel restaurant is the best option. But Rafain is a form of punishment. Do not mistake them with the Brazilian barbecue because they just have "churrascaria" in their name. The food is tasteless, bad and as the restaurant is a common destination for tours and excursions frequently there are queues and when it gets up to your turn the option are limited. The show can be seen once but it is the same for the last ten years and unless you want to punish someone or play a practical joke to your friends simply stay away from it

“Nice buffet”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

I'm not a beef eater, but I really liked the buffet and salad bar here. The folks we were with who did have the beef said it was mediocre compared to Bufalo Branco. The show is like Vegas or Mardi Gras, which did absolutely nothing for me, and made it loud and difficult to have dinner conversation.

“This was a joke!”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

The food was terrible, the show was all fake! I know it is meant for tourists, but please don't make it sound as genuine. Blonde dancers representing Paraguay? Give me a break!

“Worst churrascaria i've been to”
Reviewed June 8, 2012

I've lived in Brazil before, and have been to many churrascarias in the USA, and Rafain was by far the worst experience of them all. It's a bit different, in that the meat serving is done at the buffet lines as well, not at the table where they bring it hot to you.

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. The biggest problem was that you could merely only look at it. The place is massive, probably the biggest restaurant I've ever been inside in my life in terms of the number of people that they can fit. There are easily 400-500 seats inside. This becomes a problem when you have one rotation for the main courses, 2 rotations for the salad and dessert, and about 8 servers for the meat...with 600 people in it. It was a MAD HOUSE. Seriously, it was an absolute joke.

The meat was well done, it took forever to get, wasn't that great, and you had to wait in line 20 minutes to get it. I didn't even get to try any of the other food items. I had to arm wrestle my way into a line just to get rice and beans!

We didn't pay for the show, but it didn't look very spectacular either. Even just the dinner option was pretty expensive. The service was...not there. The food was cold by the time you finally were able to sit down.

We went on a friday night (in June), and busloads upon busloads of people descended on this place in a matter of 10 minutes. I thought we were going to wait an hour to get in, but they got about 200 people inside within 10 minutes.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Seriously, go somewhere else...especially if it is a weekend.
