“Great base for visiting the falls, with very helpful hosts”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

Good value, very friendly hosts, and nice en-suite rooms.

We had a lovely stay in this B&B in March 2013. Fabio, the owner, very kindly picked us up from the border where the bus had dropped us off. Our room was clean, and had air conditioning and en-suite bathroom.

The breakfast was excellent - lots of nice bread, fruit, cake and coffee.

Fabio and his wife were a great source of local information, and helped us organise all our visits and find nice places to eat and shop.

We would happily return for another visit.

Very nice Pousada das Flores!
Wonderfull hosts (Fabio, Angela and Gran'Ma). Available any time to make you feel like at home.
Good breakfast.
Rooms are clean with private bathroom.
Very nice garden to relax after a day visiting the falls. A tour of the garden with Fabio is a must. He also brought me around to visit his family in law.
Really secure place.
Special note for the Hammock near the swimming pool ;)
It is not located in the center of Foz do Iguacu, but you can take a bus passing nearby. You have a snack bar across the street.

We stayed with Fabio and his family for two nights on our stop over from Buenos Aires to Rio. The Pousada is a little paradise with a beautiful flower and fruit garden (Fabio takes great pleasure in showing you around and explaining the different trees and flowers to you AND in having you taste the yummy fruits). The pool with its deck chairs and Fabio's capirinhas are perfect for relaxing after a day at the Iguazu Waterfalls. Rooms are correct with double beds and showers and breakfast is very varied with yummy fruits and pastries. Fabio is a wonderful host and does everything to make you feel at home in his Pousada!

Visiting the falls from the Pousada (which is situated in Brazil, not in Argentina) is easy and you can arrange for a bus that picks you up in the morning around 9 and drops you off in the afternoon around 6pm. The only drawback is the boarder crossing you have to do for entering and exiting Argentina (given that the falls are more beautiful on the Argentine side) as this will take quite some time (around 15-30 min plus the drive to the park entry of 30 min). However, we felt that the Brazilian side had more to offer in terms of restaurants and bars in the evening and in combination with the gorgeous Pousada it more than compensates for the mentioned boarder issue.

We stayed for 2 nights and felt right at home with the warm welcome of Fabio and Angela. Fabio picked us up at the airport and took personal care of us during our stay. We arrived on Christmas day, and Fabio very willingly picked us up, and then gave us an extra tour of the area, visiting the Marco das Tres Fronteiras. Fabio and Angela are also travelers, so understand how to make your trip enjoyable. The breakfasts were delicious with an offering of fresh fruits, breads, ham, cheese, yogurt. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this Pousada!

Day 2: visited the Argentinian side of the falls. This was excellent. Not only were the falls beautiful but fabio organised for us to cross the border on a tour. For 80 reals per person they pick you up, facilitate entry into Argentina and pay for your pass into the iguazu park. You can catch the bus but you would spend an extra hour + at immigration (less time at the falls and cost is about the same). We spent the full day there- from 10am-6pm. There is plenty to do there- boat rides under the falls (take swimmers/change of clothes), Eco tours and there are trails with plenty of great view points of the falls.

We spent 3 wonderful days at Fabio and Angela's pousada visiting the falls and loved it. The rooms are comfortable and all that you need (air conditioning!) and breakfast is excellent with the best fresh fruit, juice and toasted sandwiches. They have a pool and bbq area where we met a very nice Brazilian family and saw what a traditional brazilian bbq is all about. Angela and fabio are the most hospitable hosts and will make sure you see the best of iguazu. Below is an itinerary of what we did:

Day 1: visited the Brazilian side of the falls. We spent the afternoon there (don't need a full day) and were amazed by it. You can easily catch a bus to the falls from the pousada. Fabio kindly gave us a lift to the bus stop but it is within walking distance.

Day 2: visited the Argentinian side of the falls. This was excellent. Not only were the falls beautiful but fabio organised for us to cross the border on a tour. For 80 reals per person they pick you up, facilitate entry into Argentina and pay for your pass into the iguazu park. There is plenty to do there- boat rides under the falls (take swimmers/change of clothes), Eco tours and there are trails with plenty of great view points of the falls.

Day 3: trip to Itapu dam. The scale of this dam is incredible. Strongly recommend the special tour to see inside the hydroelectric plant. Book ahead as there are limited places (we didn't book and waited for no shows). You need long pants and closed in shoes.

Fabio can also recommend nice places to eat in town e.g buffalo bronco for traditional Brazilian BBQ. The Supermarket and most restaurants are within walking distance of the Pousada too and there are no issues walking around at night, with plenty of people around at night.
