Day 2: visited the Argentinian side of the falls. This was excellent. Not only were the falls beautiful but fabio organised for us to cross the border on a tour. For 80 reals per person they pick you up, facilitate entry into Argentina and pay for your pass into the iguazu park. You can catch the bus but you would spend an extra hour + at immigration (less time at the falls and cost is about the same). We spent the full day there- from 10am-6pm. There is plenty to do there- boat rides under the falls (take swimmers/change of clothes), Eco tours and there are trails with plenty of great view points of the falls.

We spent 3 wonderful days at Fabio and Angela's pousada visiting the falls and loved it. The rooms are comfortable and all that you need (air conditioning!) and breakfast is excellent with the best fresh fruit, juice and toasted sandwiches. They have a pool and bbq area where we met a very nice Brazilian family and saw what a traditional brazilian bbq is all about. Angela and fabio are the most hospitable hosts and will make sure you see the best of iguazu. Below is an itinerary of what we did:

Day 1: visited the Brazilian side of the falls. We spent the afternoon there (don't need a full day) and were amazed by it. You can easily catch a bus to the falls from the pousada. Fabio kindly gave us a lift to the bus stop but it is within walking distance.

Day 3: trip to Itapu dam. The scale of this dam is incredible. Strongly recommend the special tour to see inside the hydroelectric plant. Book ahead as there are limited places (we didn't book and waited for no shows). You need long pants and closed in shoes.

Fabio can also recommend nice places to eat in town e.g buffalo bronco for traditional Brazilian BBQ. The Supermarket and most restaurants are within walking distance of the Pousada too and there are no issues walking around at night, with plenty of people around at night.

I was looking for a place where I could have my privacy (i.e. single room instead of dorm) and meet friendly people. I was lucky finding this nice and small (with 11 rooms and 22 beds only) Pousada das Flores!
Fabio and Angela, the owners, were very nice. They even picked me up at the airport in the middle of the night and they helped me join an organized tour to the Argentinian side of the waterfalls.
The rooms are clean and each has a private bathroom.
The breakfast was very good, it included everything I wanted (juices, coffee, tea, fruits, yoghurt, cakes, bread, cheese, bacon, marmelade).
Unfortunately, due to the cold weather, I could not use the nice pool in the garden.
The pousda is not located in the very center of Foz do Iguacu, but you can take a bus or maybe Fabio gives you a lift to the center (5 min.). I also realized, it didn't matter that much whether I was staying in the center, since I anyway used my time to see the Iguacu falls and I was less interested in exploring the city.
In a nutshell, I can definitely recommend this pousada. It is a really good buy!
