Maria's place is located in a very, very nice and upper class neighborhood. It was nice to walk around the neighborhood to see all the big houses, all with electric fences. Maria was a fantastic host and our room with private bath was spacious and beautifully decorated. The city is quite big, but a shopping mall was within walking distance abd had restaurants to chose from. Our flight was before her scheduled breakfast time, but Maria made us early breakfast no problem. She also arranged for our cab to the airport. Breakfast was delicious. She was a fantastic host.

It all started with a simple & easy booking process via email. Then from the moment we arrived at the front gate we were made to feel very welcome. Maria creates a wonderful warm environment & you feel at home from the beginning. The breakfast is more than plentiful & very delicious. We had the romantic room so no need to share a bathroom, but the bathroom is shared only between two rooms. Maria also offered us a very reasonable airport pick up & car service to the Argentine side of the falls. All in all Maria is very deserving of the ranking she has on trip advisor. You will not be disappointed if you choose Marica B&B as you base for the Brazilian side of Iguacu.

A lovely small b&b. very clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was very good and theres a small pool for cooling off on hot days. Marica was happy to lend us cash on arrival after having trouble with cash machines. Only 4 rooms, so the shared bathroom was no problem for our stay.

This was my first stop in Brazil with my friend I was travelling with. I used hotels.com to book and had no problem. When I arrived I got a taxi from the airport (no need to book ahead). I had the address written down since I can't speak portugese!

Maria greeted us when we arrived at 8pm and showed us to our spotless room. Very comfortable, well decorated, tv, AC. We shared a bathroom with 3 other rooms, but this was no problem. Maria directed us to a shopping mall for food (15 min walk). The food court was very basic with mostly fast food.

On our first day Maria got us tickets to do a boat tour at the waterfalls and called us a taxi to get there. There is also a driver (Roberto), but a taxi was just as easy and slightly cheaper. We had a great day at the waterfall and bird park. Back at the B&B we ordered pizza for dinner and drank beer by the (small) pool with some of the other guests.

Day 2, Roberto took us to Argentina to see the falls from the other park. It is good to use Roberto if you want to go to Argentina because he can speak English and helped us cross the border.

Day 3, Itapu Dam. Bought food from the supermarket on the way home and made dinner at the B&B.

Maria puts on an excellent breakfast and is very helpful by calling taxis and helping book bus tickets. She is very bust, but makes time to help her guests. One day when it rained she brought in our clothes that were outside, dried them and put them in our room so they didn't get soaked.

The only small negative thing I found was the day we were checking out I felt rushed to clear my bags out of the room since new guests were on their way! Only a small downside to an otherwise excellent stay!

We are a family of three (parent and two kids aged 16 and 21) and stayed at Marica Bed and Breakfast (Marina room) for one night, from Jan 3 to Jan 4, 2013. We had an exchange of e-mail messages to book our overnight stay, the airport pick up and the visit of the falls from both the Brazilian and the Argentinean sides. We agreed upon prices and timing.
Everything went very smoothly. At our arrival, Roberto was waiting for us and immediately accompanied us to see the Brazilian side of the falls. He then came to pick us up and drove us to a local churrascaria for dinner. In the meantime, he had already taken our luggage to the bed and breakfast.
When we arrived, Maria welcomed us and showed us our room, which was very clean and nice. We noticed that late in the night, there were some ants –not in the beds, but honestly the room was indeed very, very clean and they were coming from the garden outside. We knew we had to share the bathroom with other guests and both that night and the next morning, we found it sparkling clean and spotless. Maria speaks perfect Italian, so we had no problems at all. She prepared a good breakfast with plenty of fruit, biscuits, cakes, cheese, etc.
Roberto (he speaks good English) took us to change our money into Pesos and then to the Argentinean falls (while credit cards are accepted at the Brazilian entrance, at the Argentinean one, they only accept cash and only Pesos). He did all the bureaucratic formalities to cross the border, he helped us to buy our tickets and gave us very useful information about our visit on both days, since we only had a few hours to see the falls.

Sent an enqury to Msria via her websjte on 6 December for a room for January 12 and 13. Small complication due to our flight from sao paulo actually arriving at 01:25 hours on the 13th, though thjd is not an unusual flight, it goes every day, it is TAM airline, and it was full.
Amyway given the late arrival we asked Maria to organise a taxi to meet us, she asked for the flight details, we provided them, we asked if a credit card was required to confirm, but reveived no answer to that.
On arrival at 1:25 this morning - no taxi to meet us.Hired a taxi ourselves and were taken to the B&B which was in complete darkness and despite repeated and prolonged ringing of the bell by tje taci driver no-one appeared and we ended up hsving the taxi driver take us to another hotel.
This is incompetence. If Maria was unclear about our arrival date and time then an enquiry should hsve been made. Never, ever again.

We picked Marica B&B based on the reviews on TripAdvisor, bit not before communicating and confirming all relevant details with Maria. We were 2 families with children and stayed here for 2 nights. Maria gave up her own room for our family as we were 2 adults and 2 children and it was the biggest room in the house. The rooms were clean, comfy, air-conditioned and has wi-fi. We had to use shared bathrooms though.

Maria organised airport transfers which we had agreed with her upfront. I did try to find out options for local tours, especially to the falls on the Argentinian side and the Bird park and Itaipu dam on the Brazilian side. Maria would not confirm these, stating this was not a service she offered, but could put us in touch with some local operators when we got there and we could confirm these with them directly. This also worked out as promised, although we were not able to get any comparative quotes. In the larger scheme of things, I think we got good prices for all our tours.
Heloisa took us to the Argentinian side, managed all the border crossing formalities, helped us with currency exchange and also pointed us to all the good spots and helped us plan the day very effectively. Communication was a bit problematic, but we managed with broken Spanish, Italian, English and by the end of the day managed to teach her a few words in Hindi.
Vinny was our guide the next day and he took us to Itaipu Dam and negitiated a great deal that allowed us to go in our mini-van to the dam without waiting for the next tour. He also took us to the Bird Park and Brazilian side of the falls from where we took the Boat ride (tickets purchased from Maria, which were cheaper than the price we would have paid at the park) and then finally to the airport.
Maria speaks English and lays out a great breakfast spread.
I would certainly recommend Marica's B&B if you were in the Foz do Iguacu area.
