“Excellent Cost option”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

We have stayed there for a night at October 2013. Free transfer to the hotel took quite a bit of time to leave the airport, as we´ve had to wait for other 10 people to arrive, so it did not left the airport immediately.

We have gotten a double room, refurbished, clean! It is very close to the airport and to Argentina - good location! Drinks at mini-bar with good prices. Continental breakfast is good - good variety, enough to eat fruits, breads, juices, coffees, etc. Early in the morning we could listen airplane noises due landings or departures. Corridors do not muffle sounds, so people walking or talking can be noticed at any moment.

Front-desk attendants were very kind and helpful. Travel agency available in the hotel to arrange and book tours at region is good. Free left luggage service works very well.

It is a good cost-benefit relation and very well located! We had no issues staying there, and was very happy with our staying.

This hotel was a great choice for us. We wanted to visit the Iguacu falls without paying an arm and a leg. We didn't feel the high cost of the hotel inside of the Iguacu falls park was justifiable. Florenca was a cheery, immaculately clean hotel with extremely friendly/helpful staff. The room/bathroom was very comfortable with fast wifi in the room, modern renovations and furniture, and an in-wall heating/cooling system. We took the bus (2.85 reais) which stops right in front of the hotel frequently to all the sites (Iguacu falls, bird park, and airport) with ease, comfort, and safety. It only took us 10-20 min for each trip and the bus drops you right in front of all these destinations. The reviews we read about the bus not being safe were not true in our case, but we never headed into the town of Foz de Iguacu. We ordered room service frequently from the hotel restaurant and the food was well prepared. The breakfast was an incredibly huge spread! (fruits, breads, cereals, juices and many pastries). We did not go to the Argentina side of the falls, because the Argentinean gov't charges US citizens hundreds of dollars (reciprocity fee) to cross the border, but it is not far from this hotel. We had some rainy/cold weather in August but staying at this hotel made our stay better!

We stayed here for one night with the purpose of visiting the Falls from the Brazilian side. I had contacted the hotel re an airport pickup on arrival, but they didn't respond to my email, which was a negative. We caught a taxi and it was straightforward, but always nice to have emails answered. The hotel is quite basic and a bit run-down, but the guys at the desk were very helpful. We ate at the restaurant as there is not a lot nearby and the food wasn't good at all. It was a quiet time, so we were the only people in the restaurant and the girls working there looked rather bored. The real bonus was the girl at the travel desk in the foyer. She organised our transport to the Falls and went to a lot of effort to organise a taxi for us to get to our accommodation on the Argentinian side. All went according to plan and she definitely made it happen.

We stayed here for one night to visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls before flying to Rio. This was a perfect choice for the price and location as it was on the bus route to Iguazu Falls and was close to the airport.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the property itself is quite large and probably gets full during their busy season. It looks like it caters to families, with lush grounds and a big pool area.

Our room was basic but comfortable – two double beds – with a nice-size bathroom.

There isn’t too much in walking distance (and after a day at the falls we were beat) so we had dinner at the hotel. My fish was quite good, hubbys’ pasta just okay. There were only a few people in the dining room.

The breakfast was quite substantial, and the Hotel Florenca is a great choice when visiting Iguacu Falls Brazil/Foz do Iguacu.

Very good positioning. It was very close to the airport and to the Iguassu National Park (15 R$ in taxi). In order to go the Argentianian part, they found a taxi service for us, it took us to the Argentian National Park and in the evening took us back.

The only problem the swimming pool was old style and it was not very clean.

Hotel Florenca is an optimal jumping off point for Iguacu Falls, located near the airport and the Brazilian Park entrance. Our room was clean, the bathroom had recently been remodeled, and the pool was great.

The hotel is not close to town, which isn't a problem because the town is neither safe nor worth visiting.

Only drawback of Hotel Florenca: the food from the restaurant is just average.

We'd stay here again.

BRL 750 for two nights plus meals.

Tip: Be sure to plan two days at the falls -- one for the Brazilian side, the other for the Argentinian. We were glad we did.
