Hotel Florenca is an optimal jumping off point for Iguacu Falls, located near the airport and the Brazilian Park entrance. Our room was clean, the bathroom had recently been remodeled, and the pool was great.

The hotel is not close to town, which isn't a problem because the town is neither safe nor worth visiting.

Only drawback of Hotel Florenca: the food from the restaurant is just average.

We'd stay here again.

BRL 750 for two nights plus meals.

Tip: Be sure to plan two days at the falls -- one for the Brazilian side, the other for the Argentinian. We were glad we did.

Although we stayed there only 1 night, we were quite impressed with the hotel. Our room was big and clean, with brand new air-condition system. We went to the restaurant to have a dinner. Initially we were the only guests but within half an hour the place got quite busy. The portions were big for reasonable price. All the staff, including waitresses and reception desk were very kind and helpful. There is a nice swimming pool and tennis court / basketball pitch. We even found a baby room (nearby the reception) with lots of toys, books and baby dvd's. There was pool table, computer room and a tourist desk. We asked at the reception about a taxi to the Argentinian border. It arrived in 5 minutes and costed 20 reals (additional 20 reals to take you to Puerto Iguazu downtown). The driver even took our passports to the border control, so we didn't have to worry about anything.

Very nice hotel although it is a little far from all attractions and the town. However there is a frequent bus service right outside the door which takes you to the town and to the Airport and the Brazillian Falls.

Breakfast was fine but there really could do with somehere to toast the bread.

Pool are was very nice and clean.

We stayed here with the purpose of visiting Iguassu Falls. The hotel is on the 120 bus route to Iguassu Falls via the airport. The airport is just 10 mins away and the falls about 20 minutes. The bus costs 2.65 fixed rate regardless of distance. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel and takes you the opposite way into the downtown bus station. There is a hypermarket just one block away from the bus station. We also visited the Argentine side by catching the 120 to the Bourbon hotel, crossing the road and catching the bus to the border (12 pesos). Here you can get off, get your passport stamped and get back on the bus which continues to the bus station. From here you get a ticket at the ticket office and catch another bus to the Argentine falls. The fare is 50 pesos return. If you need a currency exchange, there is one at the border crossing. The hotel was very pleasant with pool, tennis, table tennis, table football and pool. Shower had great pressure with 24/7 hot water, tv, hairdryer, fridge, AC, etc. No fan in bathroom though! Breakfast was buffet style with a variety of pastries, cereals, etc although there was no facilities to toast bread. The restaurant meals were bland and not much choice for vegetarians. Staff at reception, especially Venessa who has excellent English, was very helpful in helping us to organise our trip. The staff at reception generally have limited English, but the restaurant staff don't speak or understand any English. We had a problem with ants on the bathroom side and the hotel reception and lounge area seems infested with little annoying flies! Would also be nice to have complimentary hot water on demand, or a kettle in the room to boil water. A great stay overall and highly recommended!

Hotel Florença lies in a perfect location for those heading for Iguaçú National Park, in addition, it is close to the airport and we got a free transfer arranged by the hotel upon arrival.
The rooms have two double beds and they're quite spacious. The pool and other leisure facilities are in good condition.
The hotel is not in the city centre, but if you want to go to the city, you can get on the bus that runs each half an hour and there's a bus stop in front of the hotel. You can also use the same bus either to get to the airport or the falls.
Breakfast was great and we had quite a few options. In the vicinity of the hotel you will probably not find anywhere to dine out or have lunch, since it is right in front of the motorway. The hotel has a good room service and you can get your lunch or dinner from the restaurant. Prices were ok.
Overall, I would recommend Florença Hotel, it is certainly a good price for what it offers.
