“Maybe it's for families....”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

Perhaps I arrived in the wrong season or perhaps it's not for young people... It was quiet and slightly creepy as it was much further from the centre than advertised. It's close to the falls and airport but much not else, and the free bus to catch the bus to the centre ends at 7pm so you're stuck there most evenings with no entertainment. Rooms were clean with adequate bathrooms but bugs and Mosquitos were prevalent. Beware the kitchen facilities are very poor to non existent (not even pans and salt)! It's definitely not the place for young backpackers looking to enjoy their time at the falls.

I've given it a 3 overall but it's touch and go and could have easily been a 2, ultimately I'm comparing it to everywhere else I've stayed in brazil over the last few weeks and it's really lacking.
Our room was cold, damp and had copious amounts of mould in the corners. Generally the room was in a poor state of repair with only one working power socket and gaps around the windows.
There was a working heater in our room but we did need to use two blankets each night.
On a plus side the staff are really friendly and helpful and the breakfasts are adequate (mainly cake based). Evening meals weren't great.
The place is not set up for winter. When we visited it was below 10degrees each day yet there are no communal areas that are indoors - breakfast is in an open greenhouse type room, lunch and dinner (and wifi and Internet) is in the bar which is an open area.
Good amounts of hot water.
A note on the location, it is really close to the Falls but it's a bus ride to town (about 20mins) and you are stuck there most evenings. It's very good for the airport - less than 15mins once you're on the bus.

We have been camping at Paudimar. The bathrooms, kitchen and public areas were spotless and the staff very friendly. A very good spot to watch the falls from the Brazilian side. If you come on Saturdays and you are planning on camping, ask for a quiet spot since they might have events on Sunday early morning, close to the campsites.

We really liked our 4 night stay at Hostel Paudimar Campestre. It was clean, comfortable, and large. The 4 bed dorm was unavailable for our dates, so we booked 2 rooms -- 1 double, 1 with two twin beds. Unfortunately they weren't adjacent, but were a few rooms apart in the same row. Our kids (both 10 years old) loved the swimming pool, and we had all of our evening meals at the poolside bar area. They also enjoyed the playground, pool table and table tennis/pingpong.
We made use of the in-house tour booking services, and took a day trip to Argentina with other guests from the hostel. Our driver was just as friendly and accommodating as the staff at the hostel.
We found it relatively easy to get around using the free local bus and the city buses, although the latter was often crowded due to the XGames and the time of day.
We would not hesitate to stay here again. In fact, next time I might book one private room(for the bathroom with shower and A/C), and book 1 campsite, so that the family could have a choice of places to sleep and save money at the same time.

This place is really nice. Staff is really helpful. The helped us to organize some activities. The common area are great, with a swimming pool and a nice decor. They have also a small restaurant. Food is ok, but the prices are so cheap and it was convenient to eat at the hotel, since the hotel is a bit far from the town.

This place is ages from nowhere and was completely overrun by overland trucks and tents everywhere - going to Carnaval with everyone else I guess. We got a private room which was overpriced and cramped. Staff friendly though which probably propped this review up a notch. AC worked fine - but bathroom had a featured brick that let air in - and MOSQUITOS! Agh. By morning the room was full of them. Brekky included wasn't bad but by Brazilian standards not fantastic either. Wifi worked ... slowly. Pool was swimmable but was "naturally" cleaned and with all those people, drinking and not physically walking to the bathroom... umm... Stay in town - cheaper, easier to get around and cleaner.

This hostel is outside the city of foz, but good reachable by bus.
The 4-Bed dorms are big and equipt with big fans - also the lockers are large.
Also there is a lot of space outside to sit and relax. They have a big pool too!

The stuff is amazing and helpful and they serve great food for less money.

Only the bathroom could be cleaner
