This place has such potential but we felt it was a pretty big disappointment. We stayed for three nights.

It's a nice big building, with some cool artwork and a decent location (10 minutes from the city centre). Some great features, BBQ area, pool table, outdoor sofas and seating. Breakfast was okay, the eggs were nice.

Then the down sides. We had a double room, the bed was extremely uncomfortable (mattress springs had no resistance whatsoever). No AC or fans, so it was baking, even with the window open. The window opened to the pool table area, so noisy if people were sat there. More on that later.

The shower was pretty horrible. Dirty, cramped, and either scalding or freezing. There are also not enough showers for the numuber of bed spaces - ground floor had one working shower, two toilets (although one is in the shower room) for three dorms of at least six beds, and our room (which had a double bed and a bunk bed). Didn't venture upstairs.

Kitchen was basic, again not large enough for the number of people they can accommodate. Also pretty grim most of the time due to lazy stoners who don't clean up after themselves (lots of them lying about).

Okay, so on to the main problem here. The owner, Evaldomir (sorry, probably spelt incorrectly) is a nice guy, friendly, always busy cleaning, or helping people. The same cannot be said for the rest of his staff, who also appear to live in the hostel. It's honestly not clear who is staff, who is a guest, and who is just a friend of the staff who happens to be staying there (asleep on the sofa, or using the sole computer, or turning up wasted at 0300 and deciding to sit on the sofa outside your window listening to bad dance music being played from his car stereo). It gives the place a weird feeling.

If you want a party hostel then this place is probably a good bet, if you're boring and grown up (we're 29) and value stuff like cleanliness then I would look elsewhere.

I spent 2 nights in this hostel. The rooms are basic and there are not many bathrooms. This wasn't a problem for me as the hostel was quiet but I imagine when it is busy there are queues. It is only a short walk to the old town and the mall and the staff are helpful and friendly. The hostel is very secure with a front gate and I felt safe as a female solo traveller but once I was stuck inside for half and hour.

I spent two night in this hostel, the place is not very clean and it has a weird atmosphere, I mean, the people is nice and helpful, but it seems like they have friends comming over and using the bathrooms making things even less clean than before... Also, the bed in the private room was like a rock (2 inches matrix and then hard wood).

We paid extra for a double room (almost hotel price), though still sharing bathrooms (too few for the number of guests). Dorms would have been better value for money perhaps.
Guests and staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was poor by Brazil standards.
