We just got back from our 3 day adventure and had a blast! It is something that we will talk about for years to come! The water was perfect for white water rafting...high and fast! It was our first time going white water rafting and we had a blast! We participated in the group rafting down the Menomonie and then individual rafting down the Pestigo. The guides and employees were very friendly, knowledgeable and there to make sure that you were safe and having a great time! The campsite was clean. Our view was awesome! We could see and hear the Pestigo river from our cabin. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Even if you are not one that would like rafting, the trails and scenery are breathtaking. We spent alot of time sightseeing and taking in the scenery during our down time. I too would recommend getting a cozy cabin just in case the weather turns bad! Our first night we had thunderstorms which had cleared by morning but we were thankful to have stayed in a dry cabin vs our neighbors who ended up in their car. We got the package deal that included meals. We found that the meals were excellent. They were well packaged and nice and hot when it came time to eat. This was so much more convenient than having to worry about bringing food or finding a place to eat. Other than rafting, we did the paintballing which was also fun. The zip-lining is something we never got to do but wished we would have been able to put it in our schedule. While reviewing other reviews, I do agree with checking with staff regarding water levels. The higher and faster the better! This is something that is out of their control so i would ask first to make sure that low water levels doesn't leave you disappointed with your rafting experience!

Great experience! Staff was very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Bonded with other campers while on trips. Would highly recommend getting a cozy cabin over tenting. The peshtigo rafting would of been better if the water was higher. Maybe chech with staff to see if water on the peshtigo is at a good level before you book that trip.

Room Tip: We had a groupon! Maybe they will offer it again!

My son and I just came back from the 4 day adventure camp.

This included: paintball, group rafting, individual rafting, high ropes, and sea kayak.

First off I want to say that the guides are great! Most are in their low to mid 20s and are college students. They do this for the fun (and I expect to make some money) in the summer). We were probably assisted by 10 guides. Many made an effort and learned our names. They we extremely friendly, safety conscious, and nice!

Paintball: great guides. You are playing paintball in the woods. Basically you divide up, start off at two different bases and you play a variety of games to eliminate the other team. Fun stuff. Note, you will get dirty and probably have a bruise or two. But you signed up for an adventure, right?

Group rafting. Again great guides. We played games and did riddles when on the smooth parts of the river. Three or 4 rapid sections.

Individual rafting. Great guides. Yes a lot of rocks. About 3 rapid areas. I fell over twice. Keep your nose and toes up if you fall over. The guides will tell you all this. They are very safety conscious.

The more you weigh the more likely you will get stuck on the rocks. I weigh 230 lbs. I got stuck a lot more than the kids did. The guides will come over and help you, if you are unable to 'unstick' yourself.

A quick note. I did read the only terrible review on tripadvisor. I think what they wrote is unfair. Lets keep in mind this is Wisconsin. If you want intensie rafting you probably need to head to Colorado or West Virginia.

But if you are looking for something 'beginner', pairing it up with other adventure outings, and hanging out with some extra cool guides. This is for you.

OK. So the high ropes. I think this is the best part of the adventure. Check out some videos on youtube or their web site. This is basically a trianglular tower. There are about 6 or so routes up the tower. Everything from easy to very difficult. They also do a rope swing at the end. What is really cool about this is the amount of communication that it requires with the people around you who are rope belaying and backup belaying. This is a great team building or family activity. Again super safe because of the guides. They know what they are doing. If you doubt, just ask.

Sea Kayaking. You are on a an individual or two person kayak. It is peaceful and quiet on the lake. We saw an eagles nets (cool) and my son jumped off a 'cliff'. Actually probably 10 feet up. But still fun.

Finally we also went fishing on the river near the campground. This we did without guides. I purchased a fishing pole at walmart on the way to the campgrounds and some bait at a bp gas station near the capground. We caught (and released) 4-5 bluegills. Not the most exciting fish. But the fish took the bait within 30 seconds. If you are looking to catch your 'first fish' then this is a great experience.

I suggest bringing gloves because bluegills have spiked fins. And if you are squeemish about touching near the fish's mouth to remove the hook then bring some needle nosed pliers. Be sure to either eat what you catch or remove the hook and put back. Fish have feelings too...

So in summary. If you are looking for an adventure you can do with your kids, significant other, or group outing then Wildman is what you want.

First, let me start with the negatives..... which is that we could only stay a day and a half!!!!!!!! That was the only negative.... seriously!

Now, the good stuff. I was in a group of 13 people, and we drove from Chicago area. The drive was easy and went a lot faster than expected. We stayed at a fantastic cabin which was all updated, if not brand new, clean, cozy and had everything we needed. The next morning we did the new Zip-Line adventure. I have to say that when I was at the top of the first tower, I was nervous but the guides were very calm and able to keep us all relaxed and helped us every step of the way. Once you do the first zip-line, you just want to keep going! And the view of the ranch from the towers was fantastic! After the zip-lines, we grabbed some carts and hit up the golf course. The price to golf with the cart was less than a couple of sleeves of golf balls but the course was challenging for me and very well maintained. Relaxing couple of hours on the course before we went white water rafting, perfect! Next up, whitewater action! The Peshtigo River is a Class II-IV river and when you go over the big falls, you can see why.... The guides worked it out so we could take the falls, hike back up and take the falls again! It was crazy fun and the guides were again, trustworthy and knowledgeable. The next day we went on the lake to do some kayaking. We took a trip around the lake and even saw an eagles nest with the eagles flying around. How cool is that!? I cannot say enough about how nice and knowledgeable the staff and guides were for every adventure. People that are nice, and people you can trust, that is who you want to be around, especially when you are going on adventures that take you places you have never been before!

Loved every minute and hopefully we will be going back on a regular basis! You will not regret this adventure! do it!

We didn't stay at the resort..we actually hooked up w/ them at the Golf course location near Niagara their outpost. We used Wildman Ranch for our trip down Piers Gorge/Menominee River. Not knowing what to expect at all we were assigned Cheryl and she did a great job of prepping us w/ knowledge on paddling as well as how to pull someone back into the raft from the river etc...she did a great job for us and made it a fun and memorable experience. Can't beat the fun! Thanks Wildman!

My wife and I spent a week at Wildmans. It was an enormous amount of fun. My wife, who isn't an outdoor person wants to go back next year. The have a very good variety of different outdoor activities which you can sign up for, They are individually priced. While not "high adventure" they were a lot of fun, and the activities are appropriate for entire families. The staff was very helpful, and the guides were very friendly. The setting in Northern Wisconsin was beautiful. They quarters were rustic, but very clean and very nice. No onsite restuarants, but plenty of small "Pub and Grubs" close by with lots of local color and good reasonably priced food. We loved it and higjhly recommend it.

Room Tip: Cabins many of which have more than 1 bedroom.
