This is a lovely Church, almost fully restored, with elaborate mosaics throughout. Many have unexpected modern touches - check out the triangle above the main entrance that includes images of natives as they were found in the 1500s, a pope, and a few guys in suits and ties (I guess the guys who paid for the restoration). The right front door panel has some sort of tribute to world war II soldiers, complete with a tank. Huh, go figure. Jarring but cool. The marble work in the interior is all real - no faux marble here, and the restored mosaics are colorful and lovely.
