I visited Ouro Preto city last December, and I can tell this museum is very nice! Well organized, clean and well maintained. It´s like watching a brazilian history class and coming back to the past, remembering all the stuffs I learned at school like 20 years ago (lol). I really liked the interactive screens, where you can read more about this period of history. It really worth a while to pay a visit there!

This museum is a "place you must go". You can see lots of gold and silver antiques, clothes and other peaces from Colonial time

Interesting historical approach of the fighting of the former colonial Brazil against the tyranny of the Portuguese Empire.

This museum are rather nice and modern in its displays and provides some sightseeing time if you have any interest in the history of the area. However, this is not a must see - it is something to do if you have time over. The signs are in both Portuguese and in English Yyou have to lock away cameras, backpacks and bags at the entrance.
Poor choice of books and postcards.
