“It is not the best choice anymore”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Dona Lucinha has been recognized as one of the best mineiro's restaurant in the country. Two restaurants in Belo Horizonte and its branch in Sao Paulo gave to the place a enormous fame.
However, after my visit to Belo Horizonte Savassi, my opinion is:
- options at buffet bring nothing new
- I arrived at noon and the food looks like it have been preapered the day before
- althrough some receipts, as feijao tropeiro and brow beans were tastefull, on average the food was overcooked or extremly dry
To try something new choose on of hundreds of botecos in Belo Horizonte. In particular those awarded at "comida de boteco" competition

“If you want real Brazilian food (and service), this is a good choice”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

On a business trip, a (international) group went hear for Sunday lunch; business delayed the start to about 3pm - no problems. 7 of us were surrounded by locals - families, couples, groups. We chose the buffet style arrangement with a wide variety of local food. The even had blood (black) pudding stew on the menu. Nothing that wasn't delicious (only my grannie fried banana better). Lots of desserts (all yummie) from peanut brittle (sort of chewey) to a sweet rice pudding. And of course the drinks included her own Cachaça (dark and light) for the afficianado; wines, beers and soft drinks for the rest. The service was brisk but muted - exactly right for the ambience. I would say slightly expensive, but more than worth the excellence of the experience.

“Not for a diet”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Traditional food from MInas Gerais, tasty, generous and very rich in calories! Some of the dishes will appear exotic to foreigners, but worth trying. Self-service.
