When you arrive in Confins airport. it's necessary take a bus to downtown. Then, the last bus stop is beside the hotel, and a traditional popular market in Afonso Pena ave at Sundays is 3 blocks from it. Simple, middle room size and comfortable.

Stayed there for 6 days on a business trip. Ample space, clean rooms, bathroom was a little tight. Breakfast was good, although the dry cereal seemed stale. Would certainly recommend the location, taxi stand on street outside the hotel, restaurants within walking distance. Sara at the reception desk was outstanding, she gave me correct directions and was helpful in planning some side trips.

There are several good points about the Belo Horizonte Plaza hotel. The best is probably its location. I arrived at Belo Horizonte at the afternoon and all I had to do was to catch the bus that leads just to the hotel front door. Almost like a taxi but certainly cheaper! On the next day I went to pick up my rented car. Rental station (Movida) is a 300m walk from the hotel, what was again very convenient! I didn’t visit the city as just planned an overnight between the flight and the rest of the journey but the hotel seems to be close to the center too.
About Plaza Hotel I was welcomed by some very friendly staff that gave me a huge room. Decoration is not the best I have seen, pretty basic furniture and a small bathroom but perfectly acceptable. Breakfast could improve. They have a small breakfast room and a limited variety of food.
The worst about this hotel is surely the price. I spent 3 weeks in Brazil and, excluding Rio de Janeiro, this was the most expensive hotel on my holidays, although not the best for sure. So I think this is a good city hotel with the best location possible and I suppose that for a couple of nights, especially if you come for work, is absolutely fine. But for the rates they charge it should be a luxury hotel, what is far from the truth.

This is a really good hotel in a great location for business travelers to Belo Horizonte. I just returned from a two week stay and found the rooms to be modern, clean and comfortable. I ended up in one of the upgraded rooms so my review is based on that. Air conditioning also worked very well which is something that is often hard to find in Brazil hotels in my experience. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful too. There are some things, just like with any hotel, that I found to be needing of improvement but overall, I would stay here again.

WiFi speed was very unpredictable. I often found myself having to switch access points (there's one on each floor) to get any bandwidth at all. The towels in the bathroom, as one other reviewer pointed out, were pretty threadbare. They could definitely use some new ones. Every few days I'd get a "good one". Someone also mentioned noise being a problem which I definitely found to be an issue. I was on the 18th floor and could hear street noise very easily even with the windows closed. I run the A/C or fan at night in hotels anyway for "white noise" and that definitely helped here but if you are a particularly light sleeper, bring ear plugs. It wasn't enough to make me move but the windows are definitely not sound-proofed.

As for food, the included breakfast on the 5th floor each morning is pretty average for Brazil but decent. I've had better but there were enough breads, fresh fruits and other things each day to keep me satisfied. The restaurant on the lower level below the lobby though is another story. There didn't seem to be a lot in the way of food to walk to in the immediate area and I heard mixed reviews on safety (that's Brazil in general!) so often times I just ate something quick in the hotel restaurant at night. The menu is very limited and food just so-so. The room service menu actually has way more to choose from but I didn't want to sit in my room each night.

One very convenient feature is the coach stop for the Tancredo Neves/Confins International Airport is right next to the hotel. The office to purchase tickets is on the side of the hotel where the restaurant is. The cost is R$20.45 each way, it takes about 50 minutes and so worth it over a taxi. The buses are clean, modern and air conditioned...and faster than a taxi I found.

Room Tip: There is a lot of construction in areas around the hotel so noise is going to be unavoidable and str...

If what you want is an efficient, clean, comfortable hotel in the centre of Belo Horizonte - this is a good choice. Everything was efficient, the staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast was excellent, everything worked. It's a bit like every other tower block city centre hotel, or you could say all the others are like this one.
We only stayed one night, it was perfect for that.

Very functional location (downtown, by the executive bus terminal for airport connections) with clean and up-to-date decoration of the rooms (except for TV sets). Air conditioning with individual regulation, but bathrooms could have a better exhaustion system. Even though the restaurant was a little noisy (both from outside and inside produced), the breakfast was a high-point, specially for the variety of fresh tropical fruits and juices.

Room Tip: The 8th floor was OK noise-wise.

Good business hotel in BH for 1 or 2 nights. Food is fine, rooms are clean and with reasonable space, but not big. downtown location easy to get a cab and go everywhere in BH. Just beside the airport bus transfer station. Cost Benefit ratio good. Gym center too small with "for home" equipments.
