Located a few minutes from downtown Bonito in a really nice area.
There are several snack bars that serve sandwiches and light meals. If you go to the one on the left, you can use their hammocks. Watch for the bees and flies while you eat...
Then go to the grassy area and enjoy the sun, but do not forget thst you can only wear organic sunscreen and they do not sell it there.
Buy food for the fish to see beautiful fish jumping out of the clear water! Or jump in and swim with them! Hint: we went in May and water was really cold!

We spent almost a whole day there! You can swim with the fishes, snorkel (rental), eat and drink (only fast food) and see macaws in the afternoon. It's only 15 R$,you can use lockers in the restaurant for free.

Great place to swim in the middle of fishes. The water is transparent and full of fishes. Possibility of sunbathing, beach volley.

Good option is to have lunch at one of the small restaurants (Amigao is the best according to locals) there. Very tasty fishes and reasonable price.

Tip:
- Avoid weekends because the attraction is for free for citizens of Bonito and there is a limit of 200 turists
- Rent the life jacket and go for a swim starting up river (close to the parking place)!

I enjoyed my time at Balneario Municipal. In fact, real for real I thought it was a better value than the Rio Sucuri which I paid a ton to do and didn't enjoy all that much. Rent a bicycle and ride out. Plenty of fish, good swimming, and much cheaper than the big name tours. Perhaps I got lucky because there were only 30 to 40 people there.

It gets crowded very soon. So I suggest to avoid it on Sundays.
