Highly recommend casa do joao, amazing food, beautiful ambiance. Yes, it is a little pricey, but sooo worth it. We got the "costelinha de pacu" for appetizer, and "traira" for main course (half portion was more than enough for me and my husband). We also had the hot ice cream for dessert, and it was to die for!
Shout out to our amazing waiter, Iago, took great care of us!

It was very good and the food is very nice. I just had some bad luck with the traíra, it had a lot of bones in it...
But the pintado was absolutely delicious.

We've tried several places in Bonito to eat Jacare (=Caiman) and this place is the best one. We ate 2 times at this place as it was so good! The ceviche de jacare is really a must try: the meat is so tender and fresh at the same time, the passion fruit sauce gives it an even better taste which we loved! The filet mignon a la parmigiana is delicious too and I would recommend it to big eater or family as you can refill the sides (French fries, beans, salad, rice) for free

A friend told me about dining at “Casa do João “ and it was a really good choice.
The food and service were both very good.
We had the house most popular dish , which was Pirarucu fish . The bigger portion feeds two people easily and it could feed three if you are not very hungry .
The price was not bad and the waitresses also can speak English and the menu is in English and Portuguese.
There’s a little store inside and next door to where the tables are set.
The decor is nice and inviting and the theme is about the Bonito region .
I recommend it .

Casa di João had been recommended but fell down on a few counts. Firstly, my main arrived when I was only 3/4 through my starter. This is a pricey restaurant for the town and courses should never overlap, especially not at premium venues. The waiter was pleasant but they saw nothing wrong with rushing the service.
Secondly, the restaurant is not good in the cold, with poor barriers to the outdoors and I was too cold to remove any layers inside, and could have used a blanket to warm up inside. (Bonito is a warm place but was very chilly for a few days during my stay.)
Third, the food seems OK overall but my meat was a bit over cooked and accompanied by every starch imaginable (potato, rice, manioc or cassava) which is Brazil style but effectively a very dry meal.

The opinion of our customers makes us always observe and practice the best in serving them.
Our environment is heated during cold days, so feel free to ask for the heater closest to the table.
The portions are generous and the side dishes free to repeat.
A big hug, João.
