Sunday morning and you're looking for a brunch? The place is Daniel Briand; The French Pastry and Chocolatier is set in a beautiful garden with a lively atmosphere, the smell of fresh french batches of brioche, croissants, chocolate bread and macaroons, fill the garden and make it authentic! Brasilienses flock to enjoy this french delicacy, sometimes requiring to wait for a table. We were quickly seated and started off with what for me is classic for any brunch, a flute of champagne or sparkling wine. We went with Chandon brut. The house serves glasses of Chandon for those not fully awake for a bottle. On the downside Daniel Briand doesn't serve mimosas but that doesn't stop you from ordering orange juice and mixing your own.The waiters dressed in typical french berets are scarce and required some patience. “Less than good”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

If it was not for being reputed as the best patisserie/snack/breakfast place in Brasília it would be ok, but the croque messier and other 2 plates I tried were not good, dry and with very little filling! Of course price does not match the quality!

“A taste of France in the middle of Brazil”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

This boulangerie/patisserie has the "ambiance" of a french café and it is perfect for a sunday brunch or an afternoon tea...Romantic place, with low lights...the prices are a little bit high for a place that is not a restaurant, but if you´re in Brasilia and craving for a "macaron" this is the place to go!

“Quaint and Relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

Daniel Briand is an excellent place to just sit, enjoy a beautiful Brasilia afternoon, drink coffee, and eat delicious sweets. It's great alone or with friends. It's one of the only true cafe locations I've found in Brasilia. The service is mixed but if you go to relax and you're not in a rush (as you should not be) then that doesn't matter all that much. The desserts and sweets are always top notch. I usually get the quiche and the quality changes from time to time.

“Good food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

I have been there a few times at evenings, and ate different dishes. Except for the soup in the bread (forgot the dish's name) I like them all: quiches, sandwiches, croissants, macaroon and all deserts; everything is very tasteful and high quality. Environment is made pleasant by the plants around, but it is always too full. Service is very weak; if you go there, be prepared to wait real long for a waiter, for the menu (a waiter told us they don't have a menu for each costumer...) and for the food. Price is too high and they won't take credit card (only debt).
