I have no major raves or rants. The room served its purpose as somewhere for me to sleep at night during my 3 week work trip. If you are looking for comfort, luxury, or cleanliness look elsewhere. The carpets are pretty gross. They are a dark green, so you aren't able to see all of the dirt and stains, but there are still some areas that are visible. I had a problem with my fridge so all of the products in the fridge had to be thrown away. Management replaced the fridge and when I tracked down the manager of the hotel, he agreed to refund me for the amount the spoiled items were worth. He picked the number, and I was just happy to get something back and it was close enough where I didn't want to fight about it. There is a grocery store 1 block away which is nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 2nd floor! It is quieter!

Basically nothing more than a Super 8.

Walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything outside your room, including the ice machine (really nice to hear at 2 am), vending machine, all doors, and when your neighbor goes to the bathroom. My room was on the first floor, and the person above me had to be up at 4, which is fine, but I heard every footstep, and every movement they made until they left.

At least they have free wifi!

Stay somewhere else if you expect to sleep in your hotel room.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we pulled into the parking lot and noticed a woman with a small white dog getting back into her vehicle. I mentioned to the other 3 people with me that I should have brought my cat, seeing as how they allowed pets!
However, we did notice a sign on the door that specified that there were no pets allowed.
We had been driving about 4 hours from Milwaukee, and were attending a wedding in town. We quickly checked into our room, saw that it had been cleaned by housekeeping, and left.
After the wedding we went straight back to our room and went straight to bed. When I woke up in the morning, I went to the bathroom and opened the shower curtain only to find DOG FECES in the bathtub. I could not believe my eyes, and immediately woke the others in my group up and asked what on earth that could be from! We were all baffled and right away called the front desk. The front desk clerk was equally baffled and very apologetic. Housekeeping removed the feces and we hurried and packed up our things and proceeded to check out and headed back to Milwaukee, 4 in a car unshowered since we were so disgusted. Upon checkout the clerk apologized profusely and ensured us that we would be contacted by the owner and compensated.
One week and 3 phone calls (From our end) later, finally were able to get a hold of the owner. First thing mentioned was that we were supposed to be contacted, and his response was "yeah, I know." This was the first unprofessional move. He then proceeded to tell us that clearly someone had played a joke on us and that we were at fault for the incident and no compensation would be given. This is the worst customer service we have EVER received. All of us have or still work at hotels, in various management positions, and can not believe the way this situation was (or really wasn't) handled. We will be contacting BBB and the health department regarding this issue. I simply cannot believe an establishment would insult and disrespect a patron as the Draft Horse Inn has done.

Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel to get the best room. Plain and simple.

Draft Horse inn isn't just the name.....it's the theme. LOTS of draft horses from awards, statues, budweiser banners....HORSES! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and if you need to stay in the Arcadia area your options are limited, and thankfully this inn is clean and nice. You use an actual KEY to get into the room...not a key card! I can't tell you how long it's been since I've stayed somewhere where key cards weren't the norm! They do charge $5 more per person (even kids) over 2 people. I was a little disappointed about that, as I've never encountered that with any other hotel I've stayed at. Double occupancy has always allowed for 2 children, 2 adults at the base rate...so instead of $79 for two beds I was charged $89. The continental breakfast really consists of just toast, banannas cheerios or raisin bran, and fruit punch or coffee....so it'll do the trick, but it's not a selling point for me. The eating area is really very nice and I read it can also be reserved for meetings. It's a nice little place for a quaint weekend getaway.

Stayed in the hotel for three nights. Overall a decent experience. Rooms are clean, wireless internet is available (and works), and location for someone staying in the area is good: right off Highway 93 on the south end of town. Though this is a case of getting what you pay for: very small television in rooms, pillows on beds could double as saltines being so thin, and no real "frills", so to speak. Still, for a small town hotel it rates better than average and for $50-something a night, a good deal.

Attended a funeral in Independence, WI and this was the closest accomodation 7 miles. This is typical small-town lodging facility; very clean, quiet, well kept with proud owners working the desk. They had a variety of rooms, some had whirpools, kitchens, etc. Our room was a simple one with a queen bed, large bathroom and soft towels. Continental breakfast was served every morning with pastries and breads from a local bakery. Just what you would expect from a small town motel. We would definitely stay there again. Very nice!
