“Worth a stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

We stopped by here after a mall excursion. The waitress was super friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent andthe portion sizes were huge. If you leave hungry it's your own fault, as they feed you colesaw, bread, and cottage chesse while you wait for your food. Love the menu and recommend making a stop.

“Just like Mom used to make”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

Eating at theMachine Shed always reminds us of the good old-fashioned meals we used to get at home. Comfort food at its best! The portions are always satisfying and the food - delicious! We all warmed up after a long day outside with some of MS's amazing soup! Our group enjoyed the loaded potato and the baked French onion soups. The soup comes with a big roll - yum! We also had some of their potato skins beforehand, and we were all plenty full with just that.

“Not like it used to be”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2012

It has gone up in price and down in portions. Not happy with the service and the amount of food was not very good. Also for lunch is says you get the fixings with your sandwich, but that turns out to just be bread which is weird because your sandwich already comes on a bun.

For the amount of money you spend here, you'd be better off visiting one of the other 20 restaurants in the 2 miles around this site.

“Sunday Brunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

On our way home after a shopping excursion, we stopped at the Machine Shed.

Overall, it was a good experience. We both did the breakfast buffet, which actually transitioned into the brunch buffet at a higher cost while we were there but we could have probably picked off of it if we wanted.

Our server was very attentive, and I was impressed that she knew all the items on the buffet by memory and even agreed that for what we wanted the buffet was a better value.

The buffet itself was pretty good. The fruit was 50/50 decent, the biscuits (mini) and gravy were good along with the waffles. The bacon was really thick and kind of like ham and pretty good. The bread pudding was excellent. I ordered an omelot which are made to order and that was decent.

Pricing was good for the early buffet at $9.99, but each drink (coffee, ice tea and orange juice) was about $2.00 so value was a little skewed by that.

The atmosphere is interested, kind of farmhouse chic. The waitstaff wear overalls and checked shirt, etc.

It's close to US41 and convenient to the mall. I'm sure we'll visit again when down there.

“Delicious comfort food, excellent, friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2012

Unassuming on the outside, a great place to have an amazing meal. Walking distance from our lovely hotel. A little country store that offers gifts for a variety of people. Bought some Christmas gifts for my grandson while there. The staff was very genuine, attentive and friendly. Food was amazing! We were given "fixin's" before the meal which included cottage cheese, cole slaw, homemade rolls and an amazing applesauce cake, which we fought over until the waitress said we could get as much as we liked. We actually ordered a whole cake (cost a whole $5) and picked it up the next day. The dinner was absolutely delicious, there was nothing brought to the table that wasn't homemade and very tasty. Even the milk came in a chilled mug. All the country touches (glasses are mason jars with handles) make the experience even more charming. You feel as though you are a guest in someone's home. So much food, we took half our meals back to the hotel with us. The waitress was excellent, attentive and genuine. Don't see this sort of this thing often, and to get it all in once place was truly a treat.
