We stayed at Settle Inn four nights (Sept. 15-18 ) and just loved it. The room was spacious and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. It was quiet and the breakfast was great (nice variety) and the gift items of which I bought some were lovely. I would definetly stay at the hotel again and since we have family in Appleton we most likely will .

Room Tip: The third floor was great, nice and quiet and the beds were wonderful.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. The original reason was because we had a coupon for a very affordable rate. But we find the hotel clean and comfortable. The beds are suprisingly comfortable, and the sound-proofing is good - you hardly ever hear any corridor noise. When they offer a "radio rate", the price is unbeatable for a double room. We have always found the staff to be polite and professional.

We stayed here on the night of Monday, Sepetmber 12, 2011. We have stayed here many times before and have always enjoyed the stay, This time, a rude and unprofessional customer service clerk made it less enjoyable than usual.

Check-in was fine, and the clerk named Jen was very busy. Lots of people checking in and the phone was ringing. Clearly she was swamped. But she took it out on the guests. We were asssigned rooms on the second floor. One of the amenties that we rely on the most is the wifi Internet access. Where we stayed, the Internet service did not work.

When we told Jen, she looked at us, and said "the system is working fine" in a very rude way. She said there had to be something wrong with our laptop. That's not true! The laptop was fine. The lobby computer wasn't evengt working. She said that she would look into it.

After a while, she called the room and said that the Internet service was checked out by the general manager, and everything was working normally. But in our end of the hotel, it still wasn't. We took our laptop to the lobby, and indeed, there, it worked. So that proves that an internet access point was out on the second floor.

Jen basically called us liars when we insisted that it was dead on the second floor. Later, we ran into a woman who is a regular at the Settle Inn, and she told us that she was treated exactly the same way. And this woman's career is in technology! She was talked down to as well.

Then, in the morning, we ran into a family from Rhinelander who had checked in at 11 the previous night. They told us that Jen was extremely rude to them, and told them that they shouldn't "get too comfortable in your room because we're moving you to a different room in the morning". The family complained to the general manager and were allowed to stay in their room, and a later "check-in" was assigned a different room.

Eventually, she gave us an Ethernet cable to connect on-line from our guest room. If she would have done that in the first place, instead of arguing about the wifi being down upstairs, that would have been better.

Anytime you requested anything from this woman, she seemed to be put-out. I bought an apple juice from the store attached to the front desk, Jen was slamming around the two dollars I gave her, clearly she didn't want to deal with me.

Now, as for the hotel itself. It is very nice. The rooms are big, they have frig and micro in each of them, the TV channel selection is excellent, and they even have a small TV in the bathroom. That is awesome. Unfortunately, my refrigerator did not work. It was on, you could hear it, but it did not spew out any cold air. Having dealt with Jen on the internet issue, I chose to not even bring up the frig issue because I knew she would have been tough to deal with.

The location is awesome, right next to the mall. The breakfast is very good. We had an omelette, cereal, sausage, juice, Belgian waffles. Outstanding!

Overall, I would stay here again. Just hope that Jen is not on the desk when we come in.

Room Tip: Do not accept a room on the second floor if you absolutely need to do work on-line from your room.

This was a beautiful hotel. I cannot write a review on much because there was no electricity. I was in town for my neices wedding and this is where the family was going to stay. There had been a bad storm come through and the hotel had no electricity. We checked in anyway thinking that it would come back on. All we did was sleep as there was no air, no warm water, pool and hottub were closed, but apparently the manager felt it neccisary to charge us the full amount for the room eventhough we didn't get to use anything but the bed. I did stay and had no problem paying something, but paying the full amount for none of the amenities promised is lousy business!

First time to the Settle Inn will be the last! Breakfast was not even edible, no eggs, not meat and milk, had go out for breakfast. Had to leave the Settle Inn in the early afternoon due to my mother unexpectedly being airlifted to hospital.

Manager Chad Scott would not refund the $220.00 per night fee. Complained to customer service, manager of the Inn did not call back until a second call to customer service was made. No credit or refund was offered. Corporate service could do nothing to help us with this independently owned Inn

If you want an Inn with awful food and where you are charged for a room you didn't stay in,
then this is the Inn. Remember your just a number here

The staff was excellent , very friendly . We had a 1 bedroom suite that had a set of bunk beds (4 total beds) and a king bed. The king bed was excellent and the bunk beds were average. Plenty of room and a very large bathroom. The breakfast was well stocked and did not lack for anything. The location was perfect. less than a mile from the stadium and across the road from the Fox Valley Mall, but off the main busy streets so there was little traffic. There was a bar/restaurant across the street. The pool was average size.

Suprisingly nice hotel for the price. Large rooms with fridge and microwave, tile bathroom floors, good breakfast, nice deck overlooking water, air hockey table in the pool area, friendly staff. The only negative is the small/thin bath towels, and the window shades don't completely block out the daylight. We will be back for sure.
