My third visit, and I am pleased to report that the hotel has continued to maintain a high level of service. Rooms are very clean and diverse, with a wide variety of floorplans. Food in the breakfast buffet is the same every day, and can get a bit dull on a longer visit. Parking next door can be frustrating, unless you have correct change or fresh dollar bills, but the location is fabulous. Excellent restaurants up and down the street. Our best choice in Appleton.

If you're coming to Appleton, you should stay downtown...and the Copperleaf is perfectly situated. It's a lovely hotel; I have stayed there twice, in a regular room and a suite and have had great experiences both visits. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spotless and comfortable and the atmosphere is refined.

They do get a little cheesy at times ("we'll pick you up in our brand new Cadillac Escalade!") but they're trying and its the best hotel I've stayed at in the area. Go for it!

My husband and I were here for a graduation and a christening during our five night stay. This hotel is lovely to look at and it is furnished attractively, both in the common areas and in the rooms. It will be difficult to find a room that isn't noisy, though. We booked The Platinum Suite on the fifth floor through the hotel and got a very good rate. The room was on par with a good three star hotel but of course, roomier. Our room faced the back of the hotel, which is supposed to be quieter. Every night we would hear the loud groans of generators, air conditioner fans, water heaters and a few other noises we couldn't identify. One night there was a piercing alarm that went off for about thirty minutes. On the other side of the hotel, you'd hear the noise of people on the street, yelling and partying. So, I guess you have a choice: loud people or loud machines!

The housekeeping service was uneven. They did come in once a day at about noon. Some days, they did a great job, while other days, they would forget to replace towels and glasses and took our own food out of the room when they cleaned. Once, the weekend maid forgot to put a sheet on our bed. None of this was terribly bothersome, as the hotel would correct whatever was missed with a phone call to the desk downstairs. And I should mention, the room was always clean.

The restaurant is nice and the food, good enough. There are better restaurants in town, though. The breakfasts were not particularly flavorful but food was plentiful. They serve what I would call, an extensive continental breakfast: coffee, tea, juice, fruit, danishes, bagels, eggs, cereal.

The service overall was friendly and in the end, efficient. Although this hotel is a solid three star hotel in terms of amenities and service, I'm still giving it four stars in terms of our satisfaction. Despite the noise, there isn't much better in Appleton.

In Appleton on business on April 26-27. This is a terrific place, quiet, well-run, cozy atmosphere. The room was first rate, nice amenities, including Aveda products and bathrobes. Staff is friendly and accommodating. They have free DVDs to borrow and the selection is wide. Mornings there's a complimentary breakfast that beats many restaurants. The bar is relaxing after a long day. The only irritating thing is the automatic $1.50 charge for the room safe, which you have to remember to ask them to remove from your bill.

All in all, it's a very very nice place; probably on the expensive side for Appleton, Wisconsin. But, for a quality stay, it certainly beats the off price chains that over-populate this area.

If your looking to stay close by to all the action of downtown Appleton, consider the CopperLeaf! My husband and I stayed in the Platinum Fireplace Suite. A very nice large two room suite. I only give you a few small warnings if you decide to spend the money on this room - the fireplace is strickly for looks (no heat, not a big deal) and the whirlpool tub, NOT for two! not for two 'healthy' taller people anyway. And it's only a whirlpool tub, not a jaccuzi!

so i just give a warning to those looking for that Romantic Whirlpool Room getaway room - This may not be your room. But don't get me wrong about the place. The hotel was clean, very nice, the continental breakfast was sufficient, almost a step up from the typical donuts/juice/fruit continental breakfasts. And the location is excellent if you plan on taking on downtown Appleton day and night.
