Vila Kalango is the perfect place to relax, to rest, very peaceful. I and my fiancee stayed 7 nights in a bungalow in 2011/mar, and all was impeccable
The staff is always attentive and carefully, all question or doubts that you have, their certainly will help, doing the best to you get a satisfaction.
The breakfast is amazing, a lot of options to get energy for you enjoy the day. The restaurant/bar have nice food and drinks, and not expensive when you compare with another restaurant in the village.
Vila Kalango is a place that loves nature, the construction integrates with nature, and particularly I value this sensitivity, that creates the right atmosphere, the place be a sustainable.
About the village is a really romantic, a lot of options to choose a restaurant or some bar to enjoy the night.
During the day you may get some of a lot options of tour around Jericoacoara, you need to visit the nature lagoons, and the beach "Pedra Furada", that you can go on foot.
Enjoy you trip, be relax, improve your culture. ;)

Room Tip: You need to visit the nature lakes, preferably by a ATV, that you can rent and ride, and the beach...

We have stayed for a week at Vila Kalango. One of the best hotel experience we had ever. The place is gorgeous, but that is nature right? Yet, the hotel architecture which is totally sustainable, creates the right atmosphere and has been done with great care. Be aware, there are no blackout shades and you might be awaken by donkey's scream that will be your neighbors during your stay :-) but what the wreck, that is part of the trip. Nevertheless, the high point is the staff: amazing hospitality! It was a truly fantastic week and we recommend this place with real pleasure.

Room Tip: Avoid the stilt houses on the left side of the properties (facing the beach). The confort suites are...

We stayed for 5 nights in an upper bangalow and for such a period we found Jeri as a nice place to rest, peaceful and great weather for sun and seabathing. Vila Kalango has a contemporaneous design very well integrated in its peculiar environment with a rustic character. Something (probably another hotel) is being constructed next to Vila kalango but during our stay it wasn´t much noisy. The staff is extremely nice, as well as breakfast. The service/food in the restaurant is also very good and not expensive when compared to the price/quality of the other restaurants in the village. It was a pleasant stay for us, in honeymoon...

Just want to inform the travellers that there is just beside the Vila Kalango, on the right side when looking at the sea, a large constriction site. They construct at large pousadad with swimming pool, etc......I could see a french familiy who came for one week to rest, they had the more expensive room on stilts...........but with breathtaking view on the construction site. They were frustrated and angry, awakened in the morning and during their nap by the sounds of buldozers.
If you select this pousada, which by the way is a very nice one, with a refined style, with a lovely staff, very friendly, cheerfull, a very good morning breakfast, you have to ask for a room on the left side, refuse the right side. This construction site should be finished end 2013

Management response:Responded June 28, 2012

Dear Mr. gouroudesmers and readers,

we report that the first stage of the work that was nearby with truck traffic to supply all the materials was fortunately completed in April.
Currently, the project is already in an advanced stage, the whole structure of the building raised, including there is no more overlooking to the construction site, because it has already a wall dividing the two projects to improve privacy for our guests, without prejudice to the privileged sea view of the rooms in question.

We stayed 7 nights at Vila Kalango in September after having spent the first week at Rancho do peixe, the sister pousada in Prea. Vila Kalango as its sister is a gem in the magical world of Jeri. Bungalows are well designed and concentrated around the gorgeous pool area. Food and service are good. We stayed in one of the tree houses which are beautiful although the lay out of the bathroom is slightly awkward - this detail however wouldn't put me off going back. Our main purpose of the trip was to kite surf for which we'd go to Prea every day. The kite school 'Rancho do kite' which is located at Rancho do peixe provides a free transfer from Vila Kalango so life couldn't be easier really....Vila Kalango is perfect for folk who like simple luxury in beautiful surroundings with easy access to beach, nightlife and kitesurfing - my idea of the perfect holiday!

We stayed at this hotel over xmas break in 2008. This hotel is right on the beach and offers a rustic retreat with all the modern ameneties. Service was impeccable and accomodation were very good. You feel like you are totally off the beaten path. Jericoacoara is a tiny villae where surfing and kite-surfing are a way of life... There is a very laid back atmosphere during the day. Nice place to relax and unwind from our hectic life. At night, the town comes alive and people party on the beach and in the streets! Very cool! Vila Kalango is one of the best hotels in Jericoacoara by far!

Room Tip: Choose a room on stilts. You get a better view and more privacy.
