“Good hotel in it's glory days in need of a maintenance and upgrade plan”
Reviewed November 16, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here for 1 day now (update later?). Reception area is good. Lobby bar ok. Breakfast has excellent choices! Definitely book including breakfast (comes recommended).

Rooms are old and sober. TV is latest Samsung smart tv so guess they've been upgraded. International channels as well. In general facilities are old: chairs need replacement, rooftop pool is missing tiles, deck chairs fall apart, etc. Don't expect a premium room and pool and you're fine.

Personnel is friendly but hardly any English. Reception is the best place to ask for things.

I have stayed at this hotel twice, in November 2011 and June 2012 and in both occasions I had a good time. Nice breakfast and friendly staff, with best mojitos in Brazil! But go to the pool bar for that and for great shots of the sunset.

Unfortunately the swimming pool area was closed for refurbishments in my last stay, but my purpose of trip was not that so it was alright.

The only inconvenience is that the lift always go down first, so one needs time to go up and down. The room windows open very little but I guess that is for safety reasons...

Room Tip: Try the high floors for non-stop sea view.

The hotel is comfy, clean, nice staff, but... always crowded of tourists, and it's bothersome, because the hotel it's not prepared to handle this.

There are only two elevators to deal with 20 floors - you can imagine the peak times - a hassle.
The breakfast is basically poor - and the crowd turns the room in a place that seems to be devastated by some plague.
To catch a cab in the front door is also a pain, because it's always blocked by a tourist bus or van.
And the great finale... A "fiesta" every night in the street, combined with a non insulated room... Sleeping is a challenge!

And for all great hassles, a very high price! Definitively, a place to avoid!

As everyone else said - only 2 elevators for 20 floors. A royal pain. For the most part rooms are OK, but as a lone woman I was bothered by the fact that the lights were off (with a motion detector in place, floor 3) next to the elevator. Also the sliding glass door to the balcony did not lock. They moved me to another room on floor 5 which still did not have lighting next to the elevators, but they eventually put in some new bulbs. My first room had 3 twin beds so very little room to walk around. Sometimes the housekeeper would forget to put shampoo in my room, but then later after I asked the front desk, this problem was fixed. It is very difficult to get a glass of wine in the restaurant - of any decent quality. Bar yes, restaurant no. In the restaurant it is best to stick with the buffet as anything with chicken or shrimp will be completely overcooked and will have the texture of rubber. The room service menu is very limited and the sandwiches are not good, too much bread, too much mayo, brown lettuce. The staff are nice and helpful, but not many speak english so do not expect english speakers. On the rooftop bar I ordered a vodka martini, was charged for 2 drinks, a martini and then a vodka. Front desk straightened this out - best to stick with something more local.

Nice comfortable hotel facing the beach with basic rooms, lobby, and above average restaurant. Nothing exceptional but a great staff and easy access to the beach, city transportation, and only four blocks from the night market! Elevators are extremely slow and hotel has limited Internet access. Still, I like the 'homey' feel of this hotel and the helpful, friendly attitude of the staff. Adjacent school and aquatics center is noisy during the day and early evening. Close to supermarkets and pharmacies as well as a good array of restaurants.

Room Tip: Front of hotel facing the beach and 'boardwalk'---upper level.

I am not a person that likes to complain, but I have to say if Seara hotel was ever a 5 star hotel they must have lost some of the stars along the way. The check in staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, the line was long and the staff never acknowledge the line. We could hear a guest complaining and the employees talking back (saying the lady should know better, that she should of done the check out instead of going to the beach, so she shouldn't be in a rush now saying she would miss her flight), not professional at all. Not a first good impression. The room was nice and clean but the second night they ran out of hot water for the shower, when I called they said the issue was going to be fixed in the next 30 minutes but it took them 3 days to fix it... so i had to take cold showers. The elevators are old and takes a long time to come by. Other than that, the food was great, the breakfast buffett was excellent, and the drinks by the pool and lobby were fantastic. Great location to stay in the heart of Fortaleza and right next to the daily handcraft fair.

It is a very well placed hotel. Near of the famous handcraft market place, pharmacies, good restaurants, banks. The leisure facilities are very good and pleople are gentle. The breakfast is nice, in the same level to the most 4 stars in Brazil. My room was located on the side of the building but I had a view of the beach. It was quiet, the cable TV presented several good options. The wireless internet access presented fast and stable.
However, a couple problems I could notice: first of all, the hotel presents a serious problem with cleaness in the room, including bathroom. Also, I should ask of soap and toalet paper refill. The bathroom presented a water leak and for all 5 days I was there, it remained damaged.
Second, if you intend to ask for a la carte plate at restaurant, just forget it. The service is really bad. I was with 2 friends and one of them remains without his meal! The maitre simply "forgot" him!
