Faustino has reopened his old restaurant, in a nicer place (nicer neighborhood and the restaurant itself), and keeps tring to create with local ingredients. Some dishes come out excellent, others not so much.
For starters we had "bolinhos de macacheira" (cassava rolls) filled with "carne de sol" (corned beef - my favourite) and "queijo coalho" (local cheese). We also had the "queijo coalho com melaço" (grilled local cheese with molasses) for starters (not as nice). Then we shared a seafood dish (I don´t recall wich) that was nicely prepared, but did not cause any special impressions. And we finished the meal with a brown sugar ice cream (great).
Service was a little slow (as in any restaurant here).
