While not frequent travelers to the Antigo area, my wife do manage to make a half dozen or so trips a year through this friendly northern Wisconsin town. When we're hungry, our restaurant of choice is The Refuge, located just off of Highway 45 on the north end of town. It's convenient location is just another plus as the food and service has always been great as well. The menu has a wide variety of sandwiches and entrees for all tastes including ribs and pasta specialties. The rueben sandwich is outstanding and a favorite of mine. Sandwiches come with home made chips or you can "upgrade" to fries for a bit more. Desserts are outstanding as well. If your a fisherman, be sure to stroll into the bar and check out the replica mounts of nearly every species of Wisconsin state record game fish.
