This is a small hotel only a couple of hundred meters from the Pelhourinho (historic city centre of Salvador). It is spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly. The breakfasts are an all-you-can-eat affair and spectacularly good, with loads of home baked goodies on offer as well as plenty of fresh local fruit, cereals and hot dishes. This is served outdoors. The rooms are small but very clean and have air conditioning which is a godsend. Mine had its own balcony (No. 2). The pool is nice and kept very clean but there is very little shade in the hottest part of the day.
The hotel is on a very steep hill with the Pelhourinho on the other side of the valley up an equally steep hill (it's a killer on a hot day). Some local streets are not safe at night but just use common sense. Military police are everywhere during the day. Up the hill from the hotel is a small square with a supermarket and on Friday nights the best samba band on earth plays there for their own pleasure. Do not miss this.
I would CERTAINLY recommend this hotel and come back here if I came to Salvador again.

The hotel is OK, fairly clean, OK breakfast, nice view and close to Pelourinho, the staff is good (except for one very nice but equally confused guy at the reception at night).

Even though it's a 5 minute walk to Pelourinho (where the "tourist police" stands fully armed at most corners) the little streets to get there are in a bad state a quite unsafe. Two in our group got robbed (guy pulled out a big blade). So don't bring anything that might give somebody the idea you have something valuable (regardless of the actual value. Your purse might be empty, but they don't know), and maybe ask the police to walk you back if it's dark.

Located at few steps from Pelourinho, the welcome is good, specially with Claudio Maia. He gives you a lot of good plans to explore the city. The breakfast buffet is generous. The pool is an appreciated refreshing place.
Wi-fi is a complete non-entity, excepted in the lobby but not much ! Rooms are pretty small, and with bad soundproofing.

The hotel is very neat, the owner is very helpful with info and advice, not sure if all stuff is. The breakfast is rich and tasty, the view from the rooms is fantastic It is very well located. The swimming pool and the big lobby give you to nice areas to hang around in all weather conditions.
i was recommended great places for eating and can give you a free drink voucher for some.

We travel to this place when we want to be nearby the historical center, but not inside of it. I feel at home, safe, clean, and well attended to.
This july we're going with the whole family of 6, with our older children who will enjoy the swimming pool in town, and the breakfast area...
