This place is like heaven. Everything is ultra modern, and much thought has obviously been given to the decor and facilties. It is perfectly situated in the old town, and staff are helpful in providing information about local attractions. The breakfasts are amazing, and it is definitely worth staying in for dinner, finished with cocktails on the terrace with a great view of the harbour. The best stay you'll have in Salvador.

This colonial building has been beautifully restored into a hotel with 10 rooms. Our room had a large bathroom, a massive, comfortable bed and a good view over the town below and the port. The hotel was kept very clean. The staff were always helpful and attentive and breakfast was delicious. The location in the old district of Pelourinho was very central. All the sites we visited were within easy walking distance of our hotel. There is clearly a lot of poverty in the surrounding area and we felt lucky to be able to come back to our little jewel of a hotel.

Just wrapped up my summer with a four-day stay at the wonderful, dreamlike Amarelindo and I'm having a hard time adusting to the gritty reality of NYC! For the past week, I've actually been looking at my calendar trying to plot a retrun trip as soon as I can. Perfect location. First-rate staff. Spotless room. Great restaurant. Believe the reviews: You MUST stay here!

I'll just give some personal notes, starting with owners Gilles and Didier themselves. Both were kind, welcoming and extremely patienet and helpful. Gilles even picked us up at the airport ( a service I would suggest, since it's a fair distance and the ride gives you a pretty good overview of Slavador outside the Pelourinho. Just e-mail or call a few days ahead) and gave us an oral "tour" of Bahia -- complete with history and geographical highlights!

Now the room: We stayed in #7 and I'm reluctant to give the number because I don't want it to be booked when we go back! That's just how great it was! It was spotless. Quiet. Spacious and cozy at the same time. The bathroom, with an overhead shower, was a dream in and of itself! And the view, which included the Hotel's pool, restaurant garden and, of course, the Bay, was STUNNING (we checked in at sunset and so should you!)!

I'm not going to go on, but I'll add that the Hotel is in a safe location and easy disatnce of most of the great restaurants in the neighborhood. Please take advantage of the wonderful breakfast they offer: My partner and I played a game every morning trying to guess what types of fruits were used in the increadilby fresh juices! Oh: hummingbirds visit the garden!
Finally, BRAVO to Camilo, Sammy and other staff who were so patient and helpful with us non-Portuguese speaking Brooklyn-ites!

My husband and I were in Salvador just the one night and stayed in this hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the decor was beautiful. Breakfast was lovely and both the room and the bathroom were large with a huge bed and huge shower. The terrace bar is great for watching the sun set and the hotel is right in the middle of the old town so has a perfect location.

My wife and I spent three days at the Casa do Amarelindo and had a wonderful time. Our room was spacious and had the largest bed that either of us had ever seen! The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and two sinks and there was a lovely balcony with spectacular unobstructed views of the ocean and the sunset.

Breakfast was included and was very tasty. It featured a fresh fruit juice, a fresh fruit smoothie, eggs, bread, fruit pieces, yogurt and coffee. Very filling and tasty.

The staff was friendly and professional. While not all of the staff speak English, there is always an English-speaking receptionist available. Also, if you want to take a break from all of the hectic merriment, there is a selection of DVDs that you can borrow from the front desk.

The hotel is located in the heart of historic Pelhorinho on a narrow cobblestone street.

This hotel has five star rooms with the cozy feel of a small hotel. We highly recommend it!

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at this wonderful small hotel and have no reservations about recommending it to others. The staff was attentive and provided wonderful service, the location is very convenient to all historic sites, and the restaurant offered a nice alternative to the traditional heavier Bahian cuisine. Our hosts were gracious and able to provide recommendations for various services and sights. The hotel will provide transfers to and from the airport and is working on developing tour services geared to the higher end clientele that stays there. In the meantime, a travel/tour company has a desk in the hotel and one can arrange for tour services through them.
