It is very nice back again and again to the Hotel Pelourinho (Salvador Bahia).
I have been 4 times alone since I started Amazon Gero Tours company ,but I used to visit this hotel alone and working , always I took good impression from all of the staffs and for sure impressed by the wonderful place and I saw a safe box to keep valuable , now it is different my wife , my son , my daughters are with me I say different because I see how much my family feel happy and comfortable here .
The owner of the hotel was very interesting she never smiled to us *(nunca nos deu um sorriso) But when we arrived middle night she let us to use her kitchen as my daught had no dinner as we were on a long journey by bus ,so it was very friendly of her as in Morro de Sao Paulo we had not the same experience.so congratulation to Mrs Elisabete and so Simone her daughter .
I cannot forget Mr . ** Salve Jorge who carry all our bags when my children dropped a bottle of juice in the floor it was funny to see Jorge cleaning the room as the flash man.
I say thank you very much to Moises the pretty lady who works at the reception who treated my children in a very special way. I forgot my tablet surface winds 8 at the reception desk and they call me and gave me it back I felt very honest people.
The breasfast room perfect lovely people and so a very good breakfast the view part to the sea and the other part to the Historic center perfect combination.
The room good enough for the price comfortable and clean , you have just to remind Salve Jorge to ask the ladies not to forget cleaning your room ofcourse if you do not want your room cleaned then informed at the reception desk.
The only main point I put as a mistake is that Mrs. Elisabete the owner whos is really dedicated to work and make everything well organized she just would to start to smile to her clients ,ofcourse opening her kitchen that time of the night gave her a golden star .
What I would recommend is to fix their wifi at least the nice people from the reception desk gave me permission to use their internet room. ( Only 1 PC).
To finish my review I have to say that the location is very good for those people who likes to watch Olodum parade training.

I stayed here for four nights & it cost me me about $55 per night. I had a large room with a high ceiling
and a small living area. In short, it was almost like a suite with a partial view of the bay. I had asked for a quiet room and I got one but there's always live music in Pelourinho and on two nights I couldn't sleep until after 2 AM. The hotel is just off Largo Pelourinho which means you can take a cab from the airport and get off at the square and walk to the hotel in a couple of minutes even with heavy luggage (taxis are not allowed beyond the square). You don't need to request the pricey airport shuttle which the hotel offers. Contrary to popular opinion, it's quite safe to walk with your bags.

The hotel is rundown and urgently needs renovation. This is the only negative aspect. If you are willing to overlook stains on the wall and the occasional peeling plaster, you'll be relatively happy here.
The two guys at the desk--Celsio and Moses--are helpful & speak English.

A word about safety. Pelourinho is regarded as the most dangerous part of Salvador but, having just returned from there, I can assure you that the opposite is true, thanks to the heavy police presence. There's a cop literally on every major street and square. You have nothing to worry about--just don't stay out late.

You could stay in Barra on the seafront but it'll take you a while by bus or cab to get to Pelourinho. The traffic can be horrendous. Besides, all the action is in Pelourinho--why stay elsewhere?

Be sure to be there on a Tuesday night when there's a big celebration in honor of Saint Francis and there's music most of the night. Don't miss Geronimo Santana's free concert. It's extraordinary.
Tuesday is also when the famous capoeira school, set up by Mestre Bimbe, does a 1-hour demo.
for tourists for $10. Not to be missed. Finally, don't miss the 6 PM mass at the NS Rosario dos Pretos church, built by slaves. The music starts right after mass.
