“Good food and reasonable price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

Traditional moqueca with a good price. If you stay close to Itapuã beach its worth the visit. The atmosphere is not so good but the price and the food compensate.

“Good Bahian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

If you want to taste authentic Bahian food, this is the place. Nothing pretentious, just good food and no tourists, mainly locals.

“Simple and nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

It is located in Itapoan, close to the beach, in fact, the back of the restaurant is in front of the beach, so the view during the day is fantastic! Part if the restaurant has air conditioner and other part there is not for those that prefer the nice wind when the weather is good.

The muqueca of shrimps is fabulous and tastes great, it serves up to three people and it comes with side dishes (you may want to request some more side dishes if you go with guys - usually they eat more! Hahaha). The price is average if you compare it to other restaurants but the quality is high. Avoid going at a weekend as it may be busy and the food get too long to come. I dont really drink so I cant say anything about beers or other liquors.

The kitchen is the first thing you see when you get inside the restaurant and you can see them cooking. The cook was so very nice and let me watch him cooking the moqueca (from the window) while he told me how to do it. I loved it.

“Delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

I love Brasilian food, especially Mukeka Bahiana (pretty much Bahia's signature dish).

This is a beautifully aromatic, spicy fish stew served with rice Pirão (Yuca flour puree).

You basically choose what type of fish (including, in some places, Cayman alligator) you wish to eat and with what type of sauce, how spicy etc...

It really does have to be tried when visiting Salvador and Bahia in general.

This, supposedly is about the best restaurant in Salvador for this particular dish and whilst the food itself did not disappoint in the slightest.
The decor and the atmosphere of the place lacked a lot, truth be told.

It wasn't the best value meal Id eaten whilst in Salvador either. But, after trying several Mukeka's in differing restaurants in Salvador and Alagoas. I can honestly say that it was the stand out dish amongst them all.

“Honest”

Fair prize, excellent food, good service. Very typical restaurant. Not contemporaneous, not fancy but the muqueca is really tasty and fresh.
Recomended
