“Great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

My husband and I stayed for 4 days and it was wonderful! The most amazing breakfast I have ever seen or tasted!

Place was beautiful and people were very friendly!

Fantastic location as you can walk to the touristic places!

I will stay there any time I visit Salvador!

A very calming, clean space in a quiet street in a good area of Salvador (not far from where Ivete Sangalo lives, if you know who she is!). Lots of thought has gone into the design of the public spaces and the rooms, so it feels fresh and modern. The owners/managers are very friendly, full of suggestions as to what to do. And the breakfasts are amazing - something different every morning I was there, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked.

My personal life savers! very friendly and helpful staff. this pousada is very well designed with elegance and style. very close to both the old town and beaches - walking distance to everything you need or want to do.

Both Thales and Natalie were great hosts and breakfast was wonderful.

Thank you again for great days. im telling all my friends and I'll be back!!

Room Tip: a very small hotel so all the rooms have their own charm

We stayed at Casa da Vitoria for a few nights in the middle of our Brazil travels. Coming from a place in Sao Luis where very little English was spoken, the fact that everyone here spoke English was quite refreshing and certainly made things easier for us North Americans! Thales, Agusta, and Natalie were all wonderful! They take the time to talk to you and make you feel at home. My husband was traveling after surgery on his foot, and Thales was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating. As the other reviews say, the breakfast is unreal- every morning is something different, innovative, delicious, and multiple-coursed! Definitely a highlight and something to look forward to each morning. The place is immaculately clean. It is decorated perfectly and is very welcoming- its the type of place you just appreciate being in. They take great care and pride in their B&B. Because it is such a personal experience, they know all of their guests. I would say the only thing we weren't used to was the front door- someone always has to let you in and out, but you never waited long. I assume it is so that they know who is where and to keep tabs on the whole place, which they do a good job of. Our stay was lovely and we were sad to leave. I would definitely recommend it for families, couples, children, and older travelers who want a calm, mature, pristinely clean and welcoming place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at Casa da Vitoria for three nights in August and were extremely impressed by the breakfasts, the sophisticated decor, attention to detail and the dedicated managers. Thales and Nathalie were extraordinarily helpful - they arranged bus tickets to get us to Cachoeira, and sought out Candomble tours for us. They are passionate about Bahian culture and the city of Salvador.

The highlight of the stay here was the breakfasts, I would get so excited to eat them in the morning. I've never experienced breakfasts quite like this - they were like a three course meal, with each course presented like a work of art.

As for the location, the neighbourhood was extremely safe and within walking distance of Pelourhino (30 mins) and Barra (15 mins), but was a bit quiet and posh for my liking. It was the type of location that I would recommend without hesitation to my mom, but maybe not as much to my friends (I'm 29). There were a few places close by that Thales and Nathalie recommended that we liked - the cafe at the Alliance Francaise, and restaurants by the Barra lighthouse. When we returned to Salvador, we stayed in a different neighbourhood - Rio Vermhelo, that had a more vibrant, bohemian nightlife scene which we enjoyed more.

In sum, if you're a foodie, who wants a base that is a true pleasure to relax in, where the hosts are some of the kindest, thoughtful, professional people you'll meet on your trip - this will be the place for you.

Room Tip: Our room faced onto the courtyard, and the bathroom wall was sort of like an opaque screen (hard to...

I have to agree with all the reviews that give this wonderful place an excellent rating. My wife and I love to stay in B&Bs whenever we travel and this is definitely one fo the best we have experienced, if not the best. Breakfast was wonderful and the house is in a perfect location to get to see all that Salvador has to offer.

We had a pleasant stay at this elegant, mid 20th century villa, situated in a safe, residential neighbourhood. The service was very good and the owners are very helpful in giving tips on what to do in town. However, the big miss of the place is a pool, which would make a huge difference given the fact that the beach is a rather long walk a way and not very good. Also, given the weather in Salvador, a dive in a pool is always refreshing. There are also a few other details which could be improved given the room price. The internet connection doesn't reach some of the rooms. The owners could also provide mosquito repellent since the rooms (at least ours) didn't have a mosquito net. Only one room has a balcony. Nevertheless, the shared terrace is very nice and one can have a nice view of the sunset. The gourmet breakfast is great but it doesn't give you options to choose from and I personally would have preferred more fruit, which is so delicious and varied in Brazil. For the same price one can get a beautiful room in a pousada right on the beach with a buffet breakfast in the neighbouring beaches.
