Very special place! Me and my wife on honeymoon loved the place.
Decor:
A beautifully renovated colonial house very colourfull and full of local arts
Rooms:
Very spacious, also full of arts and colors. Hammock on the big balcony
Location:
10-minute walk from Pelourinho, it looked like a safe area.
Breakfast
Very good. In top 3 of all places we stayed in Brazil.

Thank you very much for your review about the Pousada. It is very good to receive people from Polska and other country from east Europe,
Best regards,
Eric

A really special place to stay. A beautifully renovated colonial house only a 10-minute walk from Pelourinho but located in what felt like a safe area with not a tourist gift shop in sight. The Brazilian-French couple who own the pousada made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and offered very useful advice on how to get the best out of just a few days in Salvador (e.g. I tend to steer well clear of anything with 'folclórico' in the title, but the 'Balé folclórico da Bahia' is simply not to be missed). The pousada is beautifully decorated with local art work and has a wonderful spacious room and terrace on the groundfloor where you can relax and enjoy an amazing view of the bay. The staff were all courteous, friendly and helpful, and served the most delicious breakfast. Will definitely stay there again if we return to Salvador.

Pousada des arts is a beautiful place to stay and enjoy the colours and aromas of Bahia . It is near the Pelourinho , but very quiet . The rooms are spacious , colourful and with a breathtaking view of the bay . Breakfast is an explosion of colour and aromas with exotic fruit , aromatic coffee and delicious homemade jam . The owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful . Overall we enjoyed our stay and will go back if we have to return to Salvador

Room Tip: Worth paying a bit extra for the rooms with a view of the bay .

The pousada is a lovely place to stay. I stayed here in April, it's authentic, colourful, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, not too fancy, it was colourful, spacious and had a large bathroom. The location was a 10 minute walk to the old town which at night makes it a very quiet street to have to walk that's probably the part I wasn't a fan of. The breakfast was very nice and always fresh, very homey. Overall I enjoyed my stay and my experience.

The photos of this pousada lured me in booking it however on arrival although very colourful, it isn't as polished as it looks on the website. Although on the main road it's almost at the end therefore it is a 10 minute walk to the old town. The look of the room has been focused more so than the practicalities of it. Five lamps/lights were needed to be switched on at night before there was decent light, the shower head spluttered water all over the bathroom regardless which direction you turn it.
On the website you have a choice of the view being the old town i.e the street which runs from the old town 10 minutes away or the sea i.e the sea and factories.
Breakfast is nice although exactly the same each day.
The staff are nice and hekpful. Even those that couldn't speak English tried to help as much as they could.
It was ok but I'd try elsewhere if I returned to Salvador.

Room Tip: The street gets noisy in the mornings which can be heard from rooms with the "old town" view. Bring earplugs.

Hello,
It is the first time someone says that it looks better in the website. It has been 54 years of work to fix this very old house which was in a very bad state.
We always try to decorate and let the Pousada beautifull. For the problems of lights in the rooms thank you for your review, we fixwd everything,
Best regards,
Eric
