Very well located: from our balcony we could see the amazing Igreja de São Francisco and Terreiro de Jesus.
The suite is huge and very clean. Staff is extremely helpful.
Breakfast is served in room: you choose the time and the itens the day before. It´s very fresh and delicious.
We highly recommend!

This is a beautiful, totally central guesthouse and everyone is really friendly. Our room was spacious and airy with high ceilings and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. Breakfast is gorgeous and is served in your room.

Stay here and you are close to all the sites in Pelourinho and a short walk to the elevator down to the port. There are amazing restaurants just 200 yards away.

Can totally recommend it.

We loved our one-night stay here so much we booked 2 more nights. The rooms feature soaring ceilings which magnify the size of the room. Everything was perfectly clean. I could even do my daily pushups on the floor with confidence I would not get my hands dirty and while i was down there i noticed that even under the furniture was clean! Pelourinho is beautiful in the daytime but at nighttime it's not so safe (perhaps not in the daytime either, but we felt ok). The hotel does a great job at creating an oasis-like environment and we were very happy to stay in during the evenings and enjoy the night-time room service.

Overall, the staff/service was very good, with special mention of Ricardo who has stellar hospitality skills (as in five-star Waldorf Astoria-level hospitality skills). We were not happy at our first hotel and were a bit harried we first arrived at Pousada Solar Dos Deuses (lugging luggage around and moving hotels is never fun), but Ricardo has this uncanny ability to melt away all stress and give you the impression all will be okay. We felt we were in very good hands with him and were disappointed to find out he's not there regularly.

Does that count as a con? If I had to think of another, I would mention that the soap dispenser in the bathroom did not work perfectly. We're very lucky to have such complaints as these, as the experience was practically perfect (and definitely perfect with Ricardo). We very much look forward to coming back again.

Room Tip: Oxum is now officially our room, so you can't have it if we're in town.

I stayed one night and loved the place. The hotel can't be more central to visit the historical area of Salvador and is right on one of the main squares. The rooms and hotel are decorated with a lot of taste in local style (furniture, artwork and woodfloor) and rooms are very spacious (around 24 Sqm). There was also a lot of lights with 2 large windows on the main square. You can see that a lot of attention is put into the details and you feel like in a very nice boutique hotel. The owner and staff were incredibly nice and helpful and advised about things to see and restaurants. The breakfast, served in the room, was very generous and complete (breads, cereals, homelettes, fried eggs, fruits, yogourts...). There was music outside but it did not bother me since it stopped at around 11pm and since the room was on the second floor. Very recommended, I'll come again!

Room Tip: Upper floor

Charming hotel, lovely touches like breakfast served in your room. All the people in the hotel are really friendly and genuine. Spacious room in front with a view of the Cathedrale. Impressive. Location is perfect as it is near all good restaurants and sights. Really save neighberhood. There are only a few rooms in this hotel so personal service was great. Good value for money for the location. I would recommend this hotel even is is noisy, good location, friendly people just bring some earplugs with you.

It is really noisy as it is a old building and all rooms have a thin wall. So you hear almost everything. Our first night was at the first floor above the store below and they started at 09u00 in de morning with loud Brazillian music. If you want to sleep in do not stay at the first floor. Our second night we moved to the second floor, less noise but the Airco was dripping water.

We just returned from a few days in Salvador. Our first visit. The Inn is perfectly situated to all the historic sites. Our room, the Oxala suite, was large, airy and very comfortable. Great breakfast included in the rate. The staff were all excellent and very friendly.
We arrived late, nearly midnight. The Inn arranged for airport pickup and the driver was very courteous. Food was offered upon a arrival (we opted to go straight to bed!).
The Inn does lack a pool but the excellent rate reflected that as it was about 20-25% cheaper than the Inn's with a pool.
The breakfast, included in the rate, was very good and complete. Fruit, omeletes, juices, bread, cheeses, cold cuts - the works.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Oxala suite and it was perfect. Comfortable bed. Spacious.
