We stayed in Galleria 13 for a couple of days. We got a private room with a bathroom. All accommodations were very nice, safe and clean. Pablo and the staff were wonderful and very helpful. Happy hour was a good way to meet people and exchange info about the city. Best hostel in Pelourinho!

Room Tip: The room called East Timor is great. It is quiet, spacious and has an independent ac!

We didn't stay here, but were rescued by the owner as we were about to head down a relatively dangerous block in Salvador. He was out walking his two friendly dogs, Zulu and Spartan, and invited us back to the hostel. He shared his excellent guide - created for his own clients - and treated us as though were his guests. We had a great time hanging out and meeting the guests, taking the city tour and making new friends. It was a terrific oasis and we would definitely return.

The hostel is in a great location in pelourinho, the cities historical centre, 30 seconds from the main square. The hostel is small yet has enough room for all its occupants incorporating a pool, chill out room, outdoor seating and a bar. Not to mention free caipirinhas every day during happy hour! The breakfast was definitely one of the best breakfasts I have had in Brazil that's for sure. There's something to do everyday and even though the city may be quiet on a Sunday, leave the walking tour that the hostel provides to do the day. What better way to explore its history with very little people on the streets. Tuesday is party night in pelourinho with a great street party free to the public. I had an amazing stay there and would highly recommend both Galeria 13 and the city of Salvador! I've been to many hostels over the years travelling and this hostel coupled with the right people gets put high on my list.

The Hostel is comprised of three separate parts, the main hostel where all the fun, breakfast and meeting goes on, as well as the free capirinhas. Second there is the Zulu bar restaurant, which serves excellent food and with 10% discount on most of the food on the menu its hard to complain... also they are very flexible and will accommodate watching football and other sports if its on the tv... third there is the second hostel space which provides a quieter stay, though if you choose to stay there and have super fun in the pool all morning, noon and night thats up to you!
The walking tour of the area is brilliant and for just R$10 its impossible to complain and of cause you will be returned to the hostel for happy hour at 5:15...
The dogs are a highlight of my trip, just being able to touch a Fila Brasilieiro was super, let alone have some fun with one! My room was small but had adequate space for everyone and everything. Bed and bathrooms tidied everyday! and the perk of the hostel (apart from the pool, and happy hour and walking tour and massive breakfast and friendly staff and nice chillout (hangover) spaces) is the airconditioning in the bed rooms! wow great way to wake up and go to bed.

Loved my stay, I extended then and I will be going back next month for a few days :0)
Thanks

Room Tip: I was on the top floor, it was ok... I did see a room with a hammock though... get that one!

Hostel Galeria 13, were great! Lorena is a brilliant receptionist and Pedro to. The breakfasts and free Capirinas are one of the highlights of my stay there, however the mini swimming pool is pretty useful and the city tours are also really good. What I enjoyed the most however were the friendiness of the staff, and useful information provided (the dogs are cool too, will not trouble you just act a lil goofy haha) I will definatly be back
