Sauipe Pousada is a very hard place to rate as it's located inside the Sauipe complex and share some of its amenities with other hotels in the area. So one is never rating only the Pousada but the overall experience and this is always very personal. The first room we got had a malfunctioning door lock and we were moved to another room. This took longer then I expected but it was a not a big deal.

We were moved to a double bed room within the Pousada Pelourinho with a great view to the swimming pool and the beach. As soon as we got into it we felt a very faint smell of mold and it worried me since my daughter and I we are both allergic, but the smell disappeared completely soon after we opened the windows. Besides that the room was very clean. The bathroom has no tube (most bathroom in Brazil doesn't have it) and it was very clean. The balcony windows are huge (parents, be very careful with small children) and, if left open, the sea breeze flows through them all day long (that's a wonderful sensation).

The food is good but very boring and you will get tired of it very soon. So go eat somewhere else from times to times (Praia do Forte, for example) or you will get crazy (the day pass is also an good idea so you can eat in some of the other hotels)

Keep in mind that some amenities are charged in separate and are very expensive by Brazilian standards (horse riding, boat tours, massage therapy and etc).

The locations is good only if you are looking for a remote place to stay otherwise is not that good. The beach is awesome but to go somewhere else you need to rent a car or pay overpriced shuttles.

The place offers no Internet connection.

Room Tip: Ask, with all your heart, for a room with a view to the beach.

I stayed at Costa Do Sauipe-Sauipe Posadas for a work conference at the beginning of December. Costa Do Sauipe is a large complex made up of many high end and low end hotels. The Sauipe Pousada I stayed in for work is considered low-end, while Sauipe Park (which was right next door) is more high-end. There seems to be an all-inclusive option where meals are included and a non-inclusive option where meals are not included. Coming from the U.S. this would not be considered a resort..its very bohemian and low-end. But understand this is Brazil, standards are different. There is also Sauipe Kids and Sauipe Breezes for people who want a higher end vacation.
Being that I was there for work, we had a buffet option..the food I have to stay was very good, but I got tired of it after a while. I tried a sushi restaurant on the Pousada area, wasnt very good. The drinks however were very good..the caiprinha's were very strong.
Being from the U.S., and I dont speak Portugese, there is definitely a language barrier. It was difficult to find someone who spoke English. I also had issues with air conditioning mechanism in the room breaking down, so I had to be moved a few times. The hotel is also situated on the beach, which is beautiful and relaxing. Overall, it is not a high-end resort, but an okay place to relax.

Room Tip: Ficamos no térreo da Pousada Carnaval, melhor local, pois abria a porta e dava de cara com a piscina.
