“Nice looking church - lose the bells!”

We stayed at Hotel Dez de Julho a couple blocks away, so wandered in one day. Nice looking place, especially enjoyed the altar, made of marble in the shape of a pair of upraised hands. Oddly, there's a gift shop that sells T-shirts commemorating their 100th anniversary. Could have done without the bells that rang constantly at odd times, waking us up every morning.

It is just next to teatre amazona and a beautiful church to pop in for a look. We stayed very close to the church and able to hear the lovely bell music every 15 min. very pleasant

Facing Teatro Amazonas. Popular, small church. Beautiful ceiling frescos and saint statues. Easy to check out when visiting Teatro Amazonas.
