We were blown away by this monastery. Beautiful grounds, church inside was colorful and unique as a Serbian orthodox churchl. A gentleman that spoke english caught us right away upon entering ....as the monk outside was trying to greet us and chat- we did not understand anything except his warm smile. :) The guide showed us the church itself with stories and history- there is the 600 year old hand of Helen here! He toured us through the new and old cellars and let us taste really delicious wine (and award winning i might add) and a rosemary grappa the monks make. They also make honey, olive oil, and a version of cognac. He was super informative and just, in general, GREAT company. When we left, several monks said bye to us. Just lovely attitudes and so friendly here. We loved visiting Trebinje- it is a gem and we hope to return someday to this monastery.
