“Loved the food and atmosphere”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

We ate their twice and really enjoyed their Pastas and Ratatouille but the highlight was definitely the brownie! (Cafe 1900 is owned by the same friendly French man and has the same fantastic brownies!)

“definitely the best in town”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

Great atmosphere, really nice owners and spectacular food. definitely the best in town and maybe in bolivia.
Highly recommended dishes: Pique a Lo Macho, Pepper steak, Milanesa Napolitana, Brownie and ice cream...
My favorite restaurant so far after four months in South America!!!
(... and they just opened a new place on the main square called Cafe 1900, almost as good)

“Good for Samaipata”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the Latina Cafe while in Samaipata. The restaurant is clean, in a nice building with a cute garden, but lacks much decorative character on the inside. The French owner is great (and speaks perfect Spanish) and truly friendly. Unlike some of the European-run restaurants in the plaza, this one is timely (for Samaipata - food comes out in about 30 mins), clean, and unique (it doubles as a bar at night and hosts concerts from time to time).

That said, the menu is limited and sticks to traditional Bolivian cuisine. This is not gourmet dining, nor is it a true venture into a big variety of Bolivian dishes (Pique macho from La Paz and Lomito are the highlights here; meat dishes are served with plain rice, not the typical arroz con queso). However, for Samaipata - a town lacking culinary intrigue - Latina Cafe does the trick and is decently priced.
