The hotel has a great location and the view from the hotel room was fantastic. The room itselv was ok. The common areas were ok, the swimmingpool was fine but could have been cleaner. The hotel looks nice and cozy, but a bit tired and an impression of lack of renovation. The breakfast was ok, but the dinner we ordered in the restaurant was terrible. But all in all an ok experience, mostly because the view weighs up for the negatives.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with great view:-)

The hotel served its purpose and the views are great. But then they are anywhere in Coroico.

Oh, and with 2 rooms occupied, breakfast was laid out for an army. It might have been there for years. We skipped.

Terrible hotel, really needs a lot of work, so many things totally unfinished, desperately in need of a refurbishment. The meal we had was absolutely disgusting, the chicken wasn{t even cooked. The manager offered us a discount of 1us dollar. Do not stay here!

It is a shame that management is not taking care of what could be a great hotel. While there has been an effort to paint and upgrade some areas, the overall effort is just not up to the prices they charge. They have a great location and the bones of this colonial building could really make this a nice place with some taste, maintenance and cleaning. The towels were old and hard and the sheets, blankets and covers were old. We were also the only ones in the hotel and we also had to go looking for help every time. Our shower also had no hot water and we had to go next door to take a shower. The food was expensive and not very good. I have to say that we also checked the supposedly 5 stars El Viejo Molino. It was far from town and probably a little better. The rooms at The Esmeralda were very old and the premises ugly except for the view. The Bonito hotel was not! I don´t think Coroico gets very many turist to stay, must go on the bicycle trip and go back to La Paz. The road to Coroico in a sunny day is amazing, on our return it was not fun due to the rain and fog! Drivers pass on the curve!!!! It was very upseting, The trip to the waterfalls and the river were nice. We saw some very interesting birds. Almost everything is closed Sunday afternoon to Thursday. While this hotel was pretty bad, I didn´t find anything better.

We booked our stay at Hotel Gloria through the Hotel Gloria in La Paz, we paid 50% up front to secure the booking.

When we arrived there we were the only guests there. Whenever we needed anything we had to go looking for the staff. There was no hot water in our room so we had to move and then only hot water coming out of the shower, not the bath or the basin. The food served in the hotel restaurant was aweful.

When we came to check out, the hotel doubled our room rate claiming that the rate we paid in La Paz was per person instead of per room! We had a receipt which set out exactly what we had paid and what we had left to pay but the manager wasn't having any of it. We got the person in La Paz on the phone and she said she had made a mistake. So what we thought we were paying suddenly doubled making it a very expensive hotel to stay for extremely bad service. When we continued to argue the manager called the police, who of course took the manager's side and demanded our passports. In the end we paid because it wasn't worth being locked up in a Bolivian jail.

It was an extremely sour note upon which to end our stay in Bolivia. Do not stay here. The view is good but that's the only good thing about the hotel.
