A short walk out of the centre is Villa Bonita, a small vegetarian cafe. One of the owners is English speaking, so no confusion over orders for once! The location is out of this world. You can sit overlooking the cloudforest listening to chilled out music in the shade.
We had a lentil burger with fries, which weren't greasy. It was wholesome food and creative for vegetarian food in Bolivia. We also had sorbet which was delicious and nowhere else to be found in Bolivia so I was over the moon as I am vegan! It's homemade and comes in a variety of flavours, as well as their ice cream, which you cna have in the form of one of their creative and delicious sounding sundaes.
They also have really good wholewheat bread, not the flimsy little buns you can get in the panaderias. It was this, hearty bread which we took away to make sandwiches with the next day. They also do little croissants and cakes.
They also use real tea leaves for the tea.
Don't miss out on this gem!
