“Good but definitely mid-range”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

If for some (very) curious reason you find yourself in Jujuy (our excuse was that we needed to break a trip from Iruya to Cafayate) this place will do you fine. As others have said the public spaces reallymare lovely and graceful, and the rooms high ceiling-ed and spacious. It's worth being very clear though that this is a mid range hotel: think plastic laminate sheets for the info about the hotel/town, rooms with no furniture or art, staff with barely any English etc. The price reflects this, but I got a sense from reading some of the reviews that the place would be a little smarter than it is.

A clean, quiet peaceful place to sleep in a city we would probably not choose to visit again. We were professionally welcomed and shown to our very clean, if simple, room. The bed and linens were clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were typical of Argentina with coffee, juices, breads, ham, cheese and fruit. There was some lovely art on the walls and the lighting, especially at night, was beautiful. The pool was small and very, very cold, so we did not use it. The posada has no garage, but one is available across the street for a fee. If you are going to Jujuy, this is a nice place to stay.

A delightfully converted mansion at the quieter end of Belgrano but within easy reach of all facilities. Lovely large rooms with wooden floors and high ceilings. Two pretty courtyards plus lounge area. All felt very much like a private 5 star hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on ground floor in older part are less private.. We had room above breakfast area with our ow...

I stayed in the Posada El Arribo five nights over Christmas 2011.

The hotel is a nice building in colonial style, with several patios and a beautiful garden with pool. I stayed in one of the upstairs room at the garden, which was perfectly quiet and had a nice view. The room was perfectly clean. WiFi internet in the room worked without problems and with decent speed.

The staff at the front desk was extraordinarily helpful and welcoming and managed to organise an excursion for me every day, even on December 24 and 25 when everything else in town was closed and the tour agencies did not offer anything.

The hotel is conveniently located in Calle Belgrano, which is also the main shopping street and has several restaurants. It is about ten blocks away from the main square, but only a few blocks from restaurants.

Room Tip: Some rooms in the back have a nice view towards the garden.

I stayed here for 2.5 weeks whilst on a medical elective placement with the Hospital in Jujuy. Halfway across the world, I found an oasis which I could come home to and rest comfortably. Not one day passed where my bed wasn't made to perfection and my breakfast was not ready in time.

I have the fondest memories of my time in Jujuy, and this is largely due to the remarkable quality of accommodation and service I received in Posada el Arribo. When I left, I received hugs from all staff members, including the domestic who cried on my departure.

Jujuy does not have the stunning colonial architecture of Salta or the natural grandiosity of Iguacu. What it does have is an extremely charming (mainly indigenous) population of Argentines, who would go out of the way to make things comfortable for you. Posada el Arribo embodies this true spirit of Jujeno camaraderie, and deserves the highest levels of commendation.

Jujuy might not be the nicest city in Argentina, but this place compensates.
The colonial mansion is very charming, the staff is very friendly (e.g. no problem to get early breakfast at 5.45am to catch the bus), the room is large, and the large bed very comfortable.
One little criticism: the heating system could be better.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights on our way to a farm exchange 1hr north of Jujuy. We were tired of hostels and wanted a nice private stay before starting work. It is centrally located but feels like a country side oasis. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. I liked the feel and character of the place with open air courtyards, gardens and pool. Staff are really friendly and anxious to help in any way. For security everytime you leave you have to turn in your key(which is the standard situation in Argentina) and have them open the outside door and buzz to get in. It feels annoying but I'm used to coming and going as you please without disturbing anyone but glad for security's sake. Very comfortable nice stay.
