The Castle stands right next to a very modern shopping centre! The Castle was destroyed by fire in 1868 was been completley re-build accurately in 1959. It has some very interesting artefacts and if you want to hold a Samuri sword - this is your chance (very heavy). There are four storeys and the first time I have seen modern chair lifts at an attraction for those who need them. It is next to Kokura Castle Gardens which has an exhibition room showing how influential families lived, their style and manners. You need to take your shoes off - take socks! Excellent phot opportunities.
