I went there for a business trip in July. This hotel was booked for me by my company's customer. The building looked old & weary from the outside. Boy, it was a shock for me the moment I stepped into the lobby. It was old, old, old. AND dark. AND deserted. When the receptionist made a call on my behalf, I saw that the base of their telephone was choked with dust! That made me wonder how long did they not cleaned their reception desk. Oh, I don't think their reception area should be called a reception area at all because it is so small, I can cover the whole length with my arms outstretched. As it was still too early for me to check in, I requested to leave my luggage at their "reception area". Guess where they put my luggage??? Beside their small desk! Anybody could just sreach out their hand & whisk it away.
When it was time for me to check in, I deciedd to use their toilet at the ground floor first before going up. The moment I opened the door, I was shocked again. Huh? Why is it so dark inside? Instinctively, I reached out for the light switch beside the door, only to find that it was already switched on. I was frightened & had to do my business inside quickly. Oh, their mirror. It was not your usual mirror, but a dark one & I had difficulties seeing my reflection on it. Perhaps the silver backing behind had come off?
I pressed the lift button & had yet another shock. The lift was tiny AND dark too!!! I was scared as I was the only person inside. When the lift door opened, I rushed out to find a dimly lit corridor. My heart was thumping & all along, I was wondering why is this hotel so dimly lit. I had difficulties making out the room numbers as it was so dark!!! None of the corridor lights were switched on, except for the emergency lights. I rushed inside my bedroom hoping to find comfort. Alas, this was not the case. The room was dark AND tiny, & looked like it desperately needs a complete make-over. All the furniture inside were a sad shade of dark brown colour, & the wall looked yellowish due to age.
After my dinner when I came back to the hotel, I asked the receptionist why is the corridor so dark. He said there was nothing he could do about it. I had to use the scary & dark lift myself as there were no other guests. Gulps! When the door opened, I was even more shocked to find out how much darker it really was at night!!! Help!!! My heart thumped wildy & I flew to my bedroom for comfort. Not that there was much comfort for me in there anyway. I had to sleep with the lights on that night.
