The rooms are not at all plush, although they are large by Japanese standards. What you are paying for is the ocean view, which is lovely. It's not a quiet beach view, though, which is what I was led to expect by other reviews and the hotel's website. Instead, you overlook the train tracks and a well-traveled street, and then the beach.
The on-site French restaurant, Le Trianon, also has a beautiful view over the ocean, as well as good food and terrific service.
