We were on our way to the Port Townsend ferry and decided to give this a try. Without a lot of time, we seated ourselves at the counter, hoping for a quick bite. The interior seems like a typical family restaurant, a little like an older Denny's, with more local décor.
We immediately got menus along with the daily specials. I ordered the special, a pot roast "Just out of the oven" and my wife ordered a Reuben. Salads were served right away. Within 6 minutes, we had both dishes served. The Pot Roast was to die for! Falling apart tender, with real mashed potato's and gravy obviously made from the drippings. It did have some fat, but not an excessive amount. Great rich flavor. Reuben was very good, served on marbled Rye.
Service was friendly. It was obviously a local hang out, but they made us feel welcome. Too often we have been treated just a little different than the regulars. Not here. They get it.
Good place for a down home meal and friendly service. Very reasonable prices.
