“Wonderful homemade food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

For breakfast or lunch, this is the place to go. You may have to wait, but it is worth it for amply-portioned, very good quality homemade food and baked goods.

“Locals' favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

If you live in Anacortes and suggest lunch out, everyone says "OK. Calico?" They have wonderful breakfasts and lunches. Only problem is they don't do dinner, they close about 2 or 3. But all their food is good, they have a varied menu and the service is great. It's a cute restaurant, a bit noisy but not too bad. Try their fish tacos or quiche. You won't be disappointed whatever you get.

“Fresh ingredients, great service, good prices!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

As travelers from the Midwest, we wondered a bit when our friends recommended a place called "Calico Cafe." Images of a quaint place didn't match our impressions of our sophisticated friends. What we found was a place with FABULOUS food, a quaint atmosphere, and sophisticated and friendly service. Homemade soups were astounding. Sandwiches all had fresh-baked breads, and the service was prompt and flexible. The potato soup I had was my "best ever!" The soup and sandwich or soup and salad combinations are creative and give the customers rich options. Simply put, EVERYTHING was delicious. Casual atmosphere makes for unhurried meals, good conversations, and much appreciation for high quality local ingredients. Terrific place.

“Great Home style baking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

Great filling soups and sandwhiches, fresh made hi calorie carbed baking everyday. A solid safe bet for the freedom 50-60 crowd who can afford to pay a bit more. Very consistent all around place.

“Great place for breakfast before catching an early ferry”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

We discovered the Calico Cupboard through its advertisement in the Skagit County guide. We were on our way to the Anacortes ferry terminal and stopped for breakfast. The decor was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. Although it was too chilly early in the morning in late September, there was outdoor seating for the more hearty or those dining in the summer. Note: If you are heading up Commercial Avenue (Route 20) and following the signs to the ferry terminal, do not turn left on 12th Street. Instead, continue straight ahead on Commerical for three blocks to reach the cafe.
