“Good food, great beer, but very noisy”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Four of us went for dinner. Two had the bar-b-que ribs and raved about them. One had tuna, cooked rare with black and white sesame seeds and again raved. I had the lime soaked broiled shrimp with a lime sauce, also delicious. Side salad, however, had limp lettcue and wasn't very good. Many, many beers to choose from, most of them made at this micro-brewery. I had a generous 4 oz tastings of six beers for only $7. Quite reasonable. Berry dessert was warm and delicous.
However, it's a bar and noisy. As senior citizens with declining hearing, it was very difficult to carry on a conversation. While food is excellent (except the salad), some may want to go at a less busy time.

“Seafood (oysters)”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

My wife and I decided to try this place one afternoon. We both love oysters whether cooked or
raw. She decided to try oysters and chips and I went with their brick oven pizza. The pizza was
exellent but when asked about the oysters my wife and looked at me as if she really wanted to
say anything. The batter was thick, soggy on the inside and just took everything out of the oyster.
Will try this place again sometime but we'll stay away from the fried seafood.

“Fish and Jazz Fusion”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

We had a really good time here. A really really good time. The Hans Brehmer Trio were playing fantastic covers of our favorite mellow jazz and blues classics, the beer selection was great and they had a surprising wine selection as well. For our meals we had the yellow fin tuna and grilled rosemary prawns, not typical pub food, but we thought we'd put them to the test - they passed. The tuna was encrusted with white and black sesame seads and seared to perfection. The 8 prawns were grilled and coated with a light tasty sauce. The sides to both our meals were identical; grilled vegetables including zucchinis, potatoes and onions. They tasted very good with none of the veggies over-cooked. The food was very hot when it arrived, perhaps a little too fast which made us feel slightly rushed. We decided to share a dessert that was one of the best we've had; housemade bread pudding with cranberries and a side of Porter icecream. Yes, beer icecream, and it was heavenly! The atmosphere was friendly and the place was 75% full with a mix of frielndly polite clientelle. Can't say enough about the high quality of the live music. We studied the program at the table showing the entertainment schedule and were impressed that they had live music 4 nights a week.

“Rockfish Grill”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

We went there last Saturday. It was highly recommended from a wine shopkeep in Friday Harbor (San Juan). They brew their own beer there, so I knew I'd be happy. Had a great porter. They also serve brick oven pizzas, which we had a couple of those. Awesome. So many great things on their menu, would love to go back and try something else. Good food, good service, even bought a t-shirt, reasonable prices. If you plan to get there for the entertainment, go early, parking could be a little tricky.

“Wonderful! Can't wait to go back! KID FRIENDLY! Bands playing!”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Wonderful! Can't wait to go back! Ck out website to see what band is playing the night you want to go. Kid friendly! Kids were dancing to the music. The cilantro lime ranch dressing w/ cilantro hot wings was amazing! So was the pan fried oysters and Fish (pollack). The dungeness crab mac and cheese was ok, I've had better. Don't forget to get the $8-10 beer sampler. Totally worth it! This was a great date night location!
