“Good place to stay when catching the ferry”
Reviewed September 6, 2010

That's about it - just a handy place to stay when one has to catch a ferry. Room was average for a travel style motel , price was steep, but offset by the location right next to the ferry terminal. Place is quiet , and the bed was average. I would stat there again if I was traveling on the ferry , but that would be the only reason.

This place is the closest to the ferry terminal sitting on the hill overlooking the harbor. It's an older place, but my room had been renovated with new bathroom, etc. Very clean. They also have mini-fridge and microwave in the rooms.

The front desk staff was very nice and because I was leaving on a 6:30am ferry (before they serve their continental breakfast), she put together a "to go" package with muffin/juice the night before so I could take it with me. I thought that was pretty nice.

All in all, priced right and a decent place to stay.

This is the first review I've written because I am usually pretty accepting of places I stay but I was very disappointed with this hotel. Hard to locate office and office staff was rude. flippant and obviously only concerned about getting paid. Unprofessional manner in addressing all concerns. Rooms were overpriced for the quality of accomodations. Noisey at night and in the morning. Breakfast was horrible. Would not stay here again.

Clean, pleasant, comfortable, quiet and great employees.... We rented a cottage and out only beef was we could not use the cottage enough.... Flat screen Tv's in living and bedroom..... Our next trip to Anacortes will include at least a couple of nights at the Ship Harbor Inn..... I know this sounds like I am a friend or relative of the Inn but that is not the case..... Just a very satisfied customer......

nice tucked away hotel with a lush lawn, view of the harbor and deer that walk right through through the grounds. There are very few amenities, a usual continental breakfast and very uncomfortable beds with cheap hotel bed covers and lousy pillows. The hardest part was trying to sleep, the rooms are noisy and you can hear everything in all the rooms around you. Nice people in the office but it is quite a few miles away from city center so stalk up if you want a snack at night. Refrigerator and microwave are in each room.

I stayed here in August 2006 in double Queen room. I'm writing this review very late because I just got back from Anacortes (Anaco Inn) and regret not staying at the Ship Harbor Inn again. Honestly the other hotels along Commercial Ave. don't have a view (parking lot/industrial/road view). At the Ship Harbor you can walk right outside onto the lawn, sit at a picnic table with a beautiful view of the bay and islands, and watch the ferries come in. The rooms are big, beds comfortable, middle of the road quality, and has continental breakfast. Also close to Washington Park (a must see).

I learned about the Ship Harbor Inn by reading a Frommer’s guide. They are not on expedia so I booked my reservation at the inn’s web site. They have an interesting choice of units, a great location and friendly staff. The inn is located close to the ferry terminal and just a short distance from the commercial center of Anacortes. The wireless internet is only available in the lobby.
Anacortes was a pleasant surprise for us and a good base for exploring the Fidalgo Island and Whidbey Island area by auto. Recommend dining options in town that we enjoyed include the Gere-a-Deli deli-style cafe and the Rock Fish Grill pub-style restaurant. Seabear Company Store is located in an industrial area on the edge of town but is worth searching out for their own line of smoked fish products and as well as an interesting selection of other food products made in Washington State. The Market food store offers conventional grocery shopping with a local flair.
