A friend and I booked a room primarily because we wanted to be near the Anacortes Ferry. But the Ship Harbor Inn is a place I'd want to stay in even without that benefit. We had a room that opened out to a wide lawn, then sloped downward towards the water. A deer grazed contentedly the first evening we sat outside to enjoy the sunset and views towards the San Juan Islands. Another benefit was how close it was to Washington Park, a drive/hike/walk just a few minutes away that afforded quiet dappled sunlight, more and different views from many pullouts by the water. The staff at the Inn were helpful and pleasant. And our first reason - the ferry - was a bonus. We left our car at motel and walked down to the ferry (about an 8 minute amble) and spent a fun day in Friday Harbor before returning back to our cozy room.

Recently stayed one night at the Ship Harbor Inn after a trip to Friday Harbor.
Their location is great, right next to the Anacortes Harbor where the ferries depart for the San Juan Islands.
Rooms were a very good size, very clean and had a wonderful view of the harbor!
My particular room was located in the new section of the Inn and on the second floor. It had two queen beds (comfortable w/ nice linens), a small counter area with a refrigerator, coffee machine and sink, a good size bathroom (very clean) with nice amenities and a great little deck with large windows and a sliding glass door. There was a nice flat panel tv in room and a small table with chairs.

The check in process was very smooth and the staff at the Inn was super friendly.....willing to answer my many questions and able to accommodate my requests!! I really appreciated your kindness!!

A continental breakfast was included in the room rate and was a nice treat. Fresh coffee, juices, bread items, fresh fruit and hard-boiled eggs, to name a few of the many items.

Overall my stay was very nice and I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a location close to the harbor!

Thank you so much, Ship Harbor Inn.... I look forward to staying at your property in the future!

Room Tip: If you are in the "new" section, try to get the 2nd floor.... you have a view of the harbo...

We spent two nights here and a day out on San Juan Island. Our room was very comfortably large enough for our suitcases and paraphernalia. An antlered deer did walk past our patio in the evening. We had lovely views of the islands. The staff were gracious and welcoming. This is a great find. The locale is very quiet in a terrific location. We explored nearby Washington park and the harbor. It was a short jaunt to town for supplies and we walked to the ferry. And the beds sport the best pillows I've ever encountered!!!

I spent a night here following a kayaking trip in the San Juan Islands and I'm so glad to have chosen to stay in Anacortes (known as the gateway to the islands, but not really a destination in itself). The hotel is charming, clean, and well-appointed with a friendly staff that made sure we didn't have to wait long during the check-in process and called once we were in our room to make sure it was to our liking (it was). We had a studio on the 3rd floor overlooking main street; very comfortable bed, beautifully renovated bathroom, and spacious accommodation. Chose to eat across the street at A-town Bistro, which was terrific-best clam chowder in a while, and I'm originally from New England!

We stayed in room 143. Reception was good, nice wine. The smell of must and urine was very bad in this room. The toilet was unstable to sit on- that's probably where the smell came from.. Room was very outdated and needs a complete overhaul. The rest of the hotel was full, so we did not bother to ask for a different room. The so called breakfast was cereal and yogurt, which left us hungry a short time later. Nice private balcony, but this area was not that clean. I do NOT suggest this motel/hotel until the owners throw some money into it and fix ALL the rooms. Hard bed like most hotels I've stayed at.

Room Tip: check out the room first before staying. Get one of their room that have been remodeled

We arrived here on the off chance when we had to change our travel plans because of the weather.
We were greeted warmly, checked in and shown to our room, which was newly decorated and very clean.
We had our own little patio area where we sat looking out over the San Juan Islands, sipping our complimentary glass of wine. Bliss!
Breakfast was typical make-your-own waffles, but the syrup was good and came in jugs, not those horrid plastic packets, and the water was hot so this Brit got a decent cup of tea! There were also baked goods, fruit and cereals.

Our hostess recommended Anthony's in Cap Sante, a short drive away, for our evening meal as the local restaurant is now closed. The fish was great.

Adrift in Anacortes is good for lunch and do check out the diner, Gere-A-Deli, for coffee.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area. Highly recommended.

this is a very nice piece of property that overlooks the ferry terminal and bay . The owner checked us in and was very accomodating . She upgraded us do to the fact they had a large number of young people coming in that night and felt they would be to noisy . The room was more than what we needed and they did not charge for it . Also they are pet friendly and accomodated us there as well . The staff very friendly and they do have a happy hour with beer and wine . This was much to our liking. This was our first time to Anacortes so sugested several place to go and eat or visit . would stay again .

Room Tip: We stayed in room # 1 . great tub and fireplace . No noise .
